Kelly Clarkson 'All I Ever Wanted' Concert!

Apr 27, 2010 17:17

I finally had my first concert experience on the 26th of April, 2010 and what better concert to commemorate this than Kelly Clarkson's All I Ever Wanted' (a Suga concert would be better, but we can't all get what we want)? I have been a Kelly Clarkson fan ever since my friend introduced me to her first album, and when I heard about her concert, I just had to pester my cousins to go for it. AND WE HAD A ROCKIN' AWESOME TIME.

For your information, Kelly Clarkson is an excellent live singer. Her voice live sounds much better than her recorded albums, and she was really friendly and upbeat during the concert. Although they gave her a chair to sit on for the ballad, she insisted on standing. To me, this implied her sincerity in performing and made me more of a fan than I was.

The concert was supposed to start at 8 P.M, but not surprisngly, it was late when Kelly Clarkson came, but we had special performances by local artistes Jaclyn Victor and Suki Low to fill in the time. Jaclyn Victor performed a medley of songs from her latest album and her performance really showed why she deserved to win the Malaysian Idol title. We were pretty much bored after that, not to mention hot and sweaty since it was outdoors, so my cousin and I spent our time camwhoring. Pfft.

I can't remember the exact order of her set list, but she started off with her title song, [All I Ever Wanted] and ended with [My Life Would Suck Without You]. The highlights of the concert was when she performed her hit singles like [Breakaway], [Because of You] and a few cover songs, one of them being Kings of Leon's [Use Somebody]. Halfway through the concert, she introduced her band to us, and it's easy to see that they were really close. The guitarist was really talented, and Kelly made him perform his special 'guitar dance' for us. Hilarious. They threw guitar picks to the fans as well, but we weren't sitting in the front, so we missed out on that opportunity.

As for her Malaysian fans, most of them were pretty excited, especially these group of girls who sat behind us - they were screaming and dancing all through the concert and being overall entertaining- but there are also some who looked like they were forced to be there, or were there just to get in the hype. Oookay. My cousins and I were really into it though, we jumped and screamed and waved our 'Hotlink stick balloons' throughout till our arms ached and voices hoarse.

The concert was pretty short in my opinion, and I really wished that the fans had screamed for an 'ENCORE!' instead. My other regret was that we didn't have the cash for the highest priced seats right in the front since we would have had a better experience. I really loved hearing Kelly Clarkson sing live and I hope she would come again to Malaysia.
