“Joon, wake up.”
Joon felt someone shaking his arm roughly and opened one eye, “Fishy hyung?”
The younger of the Lee twins, Lee Donghae grinned at his younger brother and patted his head. “Yeah, I’m not a figment of your imagination. Sungmin said you asked to be woken up by 6:30 today”
Joon sits up and rubbed the sleepiness of his eyes, “Uh right… I’m taking Jae out today…”
“Another date huh? Are you sure you guys are just bestfriends?”
“Of course hyung, same as you and Hyukkie hyung…”
“Wrong example Joonie…”
“Junki hyuuuuung!!!” Donghae whined, making the eldest Lee laugh. Joon looked at his older brothers confusedly. Lee Junki, the oldest of all Lee boys moved closer and ruffled Donghae’s hair earning an even louder grunt.
“Donghae!! Is Joonie up?”
“Neh! “
“Then get your butts down here! Junki hyung fetch the kids for me, thank youuu! “
The three boys sighed loudly, Joon stretched and walked to the bathroom to wash his face. He walked out of the room and saw his oldest brother walking down the stairs followed by his two younger brothers Jinki and Taemin. From down the stairs he saw his Sungmin hyung wearing a pink apron and pointing a ladle at Donghae who was slowly backing away. Joon chuckled and walked down the stairs as his oldest hyung tries to stop the twins from fighting.
Joon sat as quietly as he could beside Jinki who was eyeing the fried chicken and Taemin who was nibbling on a toast. The oldest Lee was successful in prying the ladle off Sungmin’s hand and is now patting his back while the younger twin was clinging on Junki’s back. Joon took a piece of toasted bread and started eating while thinking, “Everything is just so crazy but I love it.”
The Lee family despite how crazy they are inside the house is as respected as the Jungs. Lee Kyung-Sam is a famous architect whose architectural firm is known in Asia. His wife, Soo Yun is his secretary and is in charge of all operations and diplomatic relations in and out of Korea. Even with the busy schedules, both parents manage to find time to take care of their six boys.
Lee Junki, the oldest, is an architectural graduate is currently being groomed by their father as his successor. Currently, he is working as the VP of the Lee Architectural firm. Having started as a mere employee has gained the respect of everyone despite his young age and boyish looks. The twins SungMin and Donghae are both in the university. Sungmin, the older twin by a minute, is majoring in music while Donghae is a Chemist in the making. Joon and Jinki are both in Hansung high as sophomore and freshman while the youngest Taemin is a graduating middle school student.
“Jinki, can you eat something other than chicken?”
Jinki stopped chewing and looked at his hyung and grinned, “nope!”
Joon took another bite at his toast and smiled at his Donghae hyung “Fishy hyung, the day when Jinki stops eating chicken is the day the world ends.”
Sungmin emerged from the kitchen holding a tray with cooked noodles followed by Junki who was also holding another tray. Donghae hid his face slightly behind Taemin who just smiled innocently at his Sungmin and Junki hyung. Sungmin temporarily forgot his anger at his younger twin and pinched the youngest Lee’s cheek.
“Aigoo… my little Taeminnie is soooo cute!”
Junki patted Donghae’s head and whispered threateningly, “Good thinking Fishy. Next time though, don’t include Taemin in your twin fights… arasso?”
Donghae gulped and nodded before he straightened and started eating the noodles placed by his Junki hyung. Soon all the plates of noodles have been served and the boys started to eat. Sungmin removed the plate of fried chicken from Jinki’s reach making him scream in horror.
“Lee Jinki, eat chicken later. You need something other than that in your body.”
Donghae, Joon and Junki nodded while Taemin continued eating the noodles ignoring his Jinki hyung’s screams.
“But chicken makes me strong! I need chicken to live! Sungmin hyuuuuuung!”
Sungmin massaged his head and glared at his younger brother while the other boys were eating like nothing was happening. Knowing that he will not be getting any help from his Junki hyung, Sungmin sighed deeply and thought of a way to calm Jinki down. The screaming stopped and was then replaced by sniffs, Sungmin looked up and his heart wrenched at the sight of Jinki crying silently… giving a longing gaze at the plate of fried chicken on Sungmin’s hand.
Taemin stopped eating and patted his Jinki hyung’s back. Jinki tore his eyes away from the chicken and gave his attention to the youngest Lee who smiled brightly, “Jinnie hyung, please stop crying. If you don’t stop crying, Taeminnie will cry too!”
Jinki smiled a little at his youngest brother’s cuteness and wiped the tears off his face. Sungmin felt the guilt building in his heart and he bit his lip.
“Jinnie, make a deal with hyung… If you finish the noodles, I’ll give you your chicken. Would you agree to that?”
Jinki suddenly looked at his Sungmin hyung and nodded his head cutely. Taemin who was looking at his hyungs smiled and continued to eat, satisfied that his Jinnie hyung started to eat his food. Sungmin smiled at the youngest ones, placed the plate of fried chicken beside his bowl of noodles before taking off his apron and sitting down.
“Sungmin, eat your breakfast.”
“Neh hyung…”
Silence now engulfed the Lee household. Each of them was concentrating on finishing their breakfast (more on Jinki’s side so he can get his chicken). Joon looked around and nudged his younger brother Jinki but the latter did not even spare him a glance. He tried tugging his Junki hyung’s shirt and he got the oldest to give him attention.
“Junki hyung… where’s umma and appa? Business trip?”
The oldest Lee nodded and ruffled Joon’s hair, “They’ll be back in three days. A client in Tokyo requested for their presence for the business deal.”
“Oh okay…”
The silence resumed as each of the boys concentrated on their meals. Taemin was the first to finish and he asked for his hyungs approval for him to go first. Junki nodded and the youngest shot out of his seat and rushed upstairs to play videogames.
“I’m done!!! Sungminnie hyuuuung!! My priiiiize!!!”
All four boys gaped at the second youngest; he finished second even though he started to eat the last. Donghae shook his head as Sungmin handed Jinki his beloved chicken. He stood after a few minutes and stretched then placed his bowl on the sink.
“Ah, I need to start getting ready…”
Joon looked at his brother confusedly. “Fishy hyung, where are you going?”
Donghae and Sungmin looked at Joon like he had grown another head making the younger fidget on his seat. Junki calmly placed his chopsticks down and drank water,
“Ya… don’t gang up on Joonie. He wasn’t here when Fishy told appa and umma about this.”
“What part time? Fishy hyung works?”
“Yeah… I work as a dance teacher with Hyukkie every weekend.”
“Wow… I didn’t know. Can I visit you at work, fishy hyung?”
“Of course, maybe you can assist us…” Donghae grinned at his younger brother who grinned back.
While the others were talking, Sungmin started to clear the remaining dishes on the table seeing that everyone has finished eating. Jinki also stood and helped his Sungmin hyung which earned him a smile from the latter.
Sungmin sighed when none of the remaining boys on the table start to move. It was already 7:30 which means Donghae would possibly be late. Sungmin handed Jinki a pair of gloves while he started to wear his own pair so they can start cleaning. The snap of the glove on Sungmin’s hand made the three boys look at the older twin who was now smirking evilly.
“Fishy, go and get ready or you’ll be late for work. Junki hyung, the papers aren’t going to decrease on their own, you need to study them and you, my adorable Joonie, need to start prepping up for your date with Jae.”
Joon opened his mouth to speak but Sungmin beat him to it, “and don’t tell me it isn’t a date because I do not believe you. Now, are you boys going to move or I’ll ask for umma’s permission to personally decorate your rooms? I’ve been thinking that your rooms need some color.”
The three stood straight as soon as they heard Sungmin’s threat, Donghae gave his older twin a salute and ran to his room. The oldest sighed dejectedly and started his walk to the office he shares with their parents, mumbling about his death by drowning in paperwork and that Sungmin is definitely alike their mother. Joon patted his oldest hyung’s back sympathetically before he ran to his own room to get ready.

Extra conversations:
“Minnie hyung… were you serious about decorating Junki, Fishy and Joonie hyungs’ rooms?”
“Of course Jinnie-ah! When have I lied?”
“oh…” Jinki started scrubbing one of the bowls while thinking, “No wonder hyungs ran… I still have nightmares after sleeping in Sungmin hyung’s room. Seriously those bunny plushies are alive… what if one of them walks around while Sungmin hyung is asleep? Maybe I should keep an umbrella beside my bed just to be sure…”
“Jinnie-ah? Jinjin? Dubu? Lee Jinki!!!!”
Jinki slowly turned his head to look at his older brother, face blank… Sungmin sighed and patted Jinki’s back lightly… “Continue what you are doing, dear… “
Jinki suddenly grinned and blurted, “Thank you Sungmin hyung.”
Sungmin released an even bigger sigh and rinsed the soapy dishes.
