Mura uncharacteristically entered the house in an almost hazy dream like state. “I am home” She called out as she took off her shoes, “Welcome home darling! How was work?“ Her mother Taki called out from the kitchen before she returned to humming a happy tune as she made the lunches for tomorrow, her father Chihiro was sitting at the dinner table ( Read more... )

Being the first day of winter break, Mamoru had spent his day cleaning his room. There wasn't much to be done in the room as he was naturally tidy, so he began by taking everything out of his drawers and shelves and reorganizing it. He vacuumed, cleaned the windows, and polished the wood surfaces in the room while sporting a white apron to keep dust from appearing on his black pants.

Lunch consisted of very bland foods that Mamoru favored over the increasingly popular sugary foods. During his lunch break, Mamoru also discovered that he disliked red tea that had mandarin flavoring. The taste was much to pungent for him. Regardless, he finished the cup of tea.

As night crept in, he focused on reorganizing his occult things. He missed Yukimura's arrival home and had been busy finding a more convenient location for the tarot cards he had recently invested in. His skills were no where near his sisters when it came to those type of readings, but it didn't hurt to learn. A mere glance at the clock brought Mamoru back into reality and kept him from missing one of his favorite shows. He quickly bundle the cards together and placed him in a box located on his desk before running out of the room.

He walked into the family room, greeting his parents and his sister before taking a seat on the couch with his sister. He gave Yukimura a smile as he leaned back against her legs.

Mura seemed to brighten when her brother came down, she waved a hand at him. "I was wandering where you were Mamo-chan." She wiggled her leg in a playful way. "how was your first day of winter break?" They had a few minutes before the show. She tried to push the worried thoughts of Kanako out of her head, it wouldn't be good for him to get caught up in that mess.

"Boring and rather uneventful. I wish you could've been home to help me with my tarot cards," he answered her question as he fluffed up a pillow on his side of the couch. When he had finished with that, he turned back towards Yukimura. "What about yourself? Anything exciting happen at work?"

"sounds a bit like mine." Slowly Mura sat up moving to pull her little brother into a hug - not caring he just made himself comfortable. She linked her slender arms around his shoulders and pulled him into her chest a bit. The older sibling dropped her cheek onto the top of his head with a gentle sigh. "....." A few long seconds passed before Mura spoke.

".. it was boring until a strange man came in to have his cards read, Oddly enough he will be attending my school at end of winter break." Her voice changed inflections as she spoke, soft yet wary. It was her face though that truly showed how she felt. It was a mix of fear, wonder, uncertainty, curiosity, and even a dash of romantic interest.

He was different from Toriyama, she just wanted to torture him, this one...was all together different from anyone at their school. "When I read his cards though...his future...was bleak... but it didn't just effect him...but everyone around him." Her grip tighten for a moment, before she loosened it. "besides that....nothing much."

Used to his sisters antics, Mamoru allowed for her to move him despite having just manuevering the pillow into a comfortable position. He let her speak, taking in her words and the emotion driving them. The way they affected her intonation was enough to cause Mamoru to twist his body enough to allow his eyes to connect with hers.

"Do you think it was merely a coincidence that a future classmate of yours would show up at your work? A man with a horrid future, at that.-" and in English, "-It is absurd, sister!"

He bit down on his lower lip and his brows furrowed. He didn't like he fact that a man who is destined to have an intertwined future with Yukimura, would come to meet Mamoru's sister earlier than what would be expected. It formed a relationship between the two, and Mamoru distrusted this relationship. The man was trapped with an unlikable future, so why should he be linked with Yukimura? It was too dangerous for Yukimura's sake.

Mura's eyes darken a bit at her brother's response, she stared down at him for an endless moment. " I do not think it is a coincidence, hopefully he heeds my words Its why I want you to go to that nice high school closer to home. It has better students and better education Mamoru....." and what I saw will not come to pass, but I will do everything in my power to make sure it will not. The young card reader thought to herself, for Mamoru's sake.

As the words left her mouth, Mamoru was already shaking his head. "No way! I have absolutely no want to attend that school," he waved his hand as if pushing the idea away. "I am going to Gakuin. I want to protect you, and I cannot achieve that from far away." His eyes flickered between both of her eyes and he drew a stubborn frown.

Mura simply stared down at her little brother a moment. Her long manicured fingernails gentling stroking the exposed part of his arm. She simply couldn't tell him how dangerous her school was for him, or how much it scared her for her little Mamoru to go.

"Mamoru...I am fine at school, how many times do I have to tell you, before you believe your big sister?"

"Arrgh why do you always say that!" he crossed his arms defiantely. "You always say that you are fine and that everything is okay. Well you will be, next year, I'll see to it!"

"Mamo-chan...." Mura stared at her younger brother a moment...her hands reaching out to cup his face gently. Her dark purple nails gently stroked his cheek.

"what did I do...to be given such a cute little brother?"

Mamoru shook his head free from her hands, given a 'hmph'. "Cute is not a word that I would prefer to be described as. I'm also not so little anymore. I've grown a whole inch this past summer." Pride edged his voice as he announced the growth spurt. He was still small in his class compared to the other boys that were his classmates.

"Oh?" mura sat back a moment bringing a painted finger nail to her lip, " really an inch?" A soft smile crossed her face as she rested her forehead against Mamoru's.

"you will just have to drink more milk...so you can grow taller, and taller, but Mamo-chan....even when you grow up to be some handsome, dashing, man......you will always be my cute little brother." A wicked grin crossed her face as she moved to tickle her little brother.

Though standing in the door way, their parents watched with soft smile on their faces.
