Last night at about 10:30 or so, I got an e-mail from the UH system. They have this alert thing now, where you can get e-mails/texts about emergency situations. I didn't subscribe to the text one, but they sent out an e-mail to all the UH students.
The e-mail basically said that there had been an earthquake in Chile, and that the State of Hawaii was under tsunami advisory. It was expected to hit around 11:00 or so.
It's almost 12:00 now, and nothing! Although they are noticing that the waves are receding further than normal.
My mom and dad have pretty much been watching KGMB/KHNL (which merged into "Hawaii News Now"). My dad wanted to go down the road a bit and watch the wave come in. We're high enough up, but if you drive down the road a bit, there's a place where you can see downtown pretty well. Mom didn't want to go, though. xD
