Why is it that whenever you have to get somewhere quick and you're running out of time, you get stuck behind EVERYONE.
I had a half hour to go before I had to be at taiko practice. I wanted to pick up some stuff from Borders before then, because I know that I wouldn't be able to do it over the weekend (and they'd only hold it until Saturday). I didn't wanna go AFTER taiko practice, because I knew my legs/feet would be sore, and that I'd be sweaty and stinky. So I really wanted to get it done beforehand.
I grabbed the Newtype magazine I wanted (just because Ichigo was on the cover), and then headed toward the cashiers. There was this woman casually looking at some of the notebooks, and when I was closing in on her, she straightened up and beat me to the line.
There was one cashier helping a customer, and a man in front of the blonde woman. It didn't look like the cashier was going to be done any time soon, because they seemed to be in the middle of explaining something about gift cards.
Luckily, the cashier noticed that the line was getting a little long (one more person got in line behind me) and so she radioed for back up. ("CODE BLUE! CODE BLUE! I NEED BACK-UP ON THE EAST END! OVERRUN BY FRIENDLIES! REPEAT, OVERRUN BY FRIENDLIES!!")
Another cashier came up to help, and finally it was my turn. I now had 20 minutes. The transaction went smoothly, and I left. I managed to get out of the parking lot without incident, and began plotting my route.
But in all my planning, I had forgotten that the particular intersection I was headed towards was difficult to get out of. Especially if you were turning left, which I would be doing. I had only been thinking of the intersection after that...and the one after that...and the one after that...
I kept getting stuck at red lights... And then I got stuck behind someone going 15 mph below the speed limit. (Although I think that's still within the legal limits.)
Anyway, I ended up at practice three minutes before it started. I made it! Woo!
On another note...
I held a little bird in my hands! One of those sparrow-like birds. It had gotten into the library, and we were trying to get it out. I managed to catch it in my hands, and it felt soft and fluffy!
And like it was possessed by an evil spirit because it kept flapping its wings and trying to get away from me.
So I let it go because I was afraid I'd crush its little body.
Eventually a girl who works in the Writing Center was able to catch him and let him outside. The bird probably came in through the roof or something, but it's the second bird that we've had flying around inside the library.
WTF is going on, people?!?!?!
Oh well.
I finished reading volume three of Gentlemen's Alliance a.k.a. Shinshi Doumei Cross...it was cute!!! But cliched, and I kind of feel like it's moving too fast, but....oh well! Not every manga is perfect.
I flipped through the Newtype magazine I bought. (It's like $13 now. WTF.) The preview DVD got better. You can now choose between subs and dubs, and it has some trailers for a few games and other anime series.
I watched the first episodes for Welcome to the NHK (a.k.a. NHK ni Youkoso) and Phoenix (a.k.a. Hi no Tori). Both were pretty interesting... Although I think I like NHK better than Phoenix...but only because Satou is a dork.
OHHHHH...which reminds me...I watched a bunch of the new anime that came out... We'll see if I keep watching them. Haha!
anime,
