The reason why it's hard to get mad at an animal for wanting to be pet is its unconditional affection that's not creepy, or expecting things to go further. "Hi I'm a kitty cat and I love you please pet me because oMG I love you!" Doggies too. Just the, "Hey you're so fucking awesome omg omg I love you!"
It's one of the reasons I don't get people who don't love animals. They certainly love you.
