Yet More bad Poetry

For Seth -Seeing the world through your eyes.

I see the world swim by
The sights and pleasures beckoning me forth
And in forgetfulness I leap up to fly
Only to be ripped back cruelly to earth

Bound by no material cage or chain
Nevertheless grounded into one chosen way
Loved and petted, still I strain
Towards the sky

Though my captor would be sorely grieved
Though my place be warm and safe
Still I yearn for a more open space
Destiny gives me no reprieve

Those nights I said I had no other love
Were lies though I did not know
And now Mistress Freedom vies with you
How am I to know which to choose?
