Okay I need a little help. I met 3 Japanese guys in San Juan and we exchanged emails. One of them ひろ answered but I need help completely understanding. Here it is--

First sentence I'm nor sure but I think it says:

I was surprised there are people in San Juan that study Japanese.
Are the a lot of people who study Japanese in San Juan?
Why does María have interest in Japan?
I'm not sure about the two lines after that~
Then it says "I will wait for an answer"
Please help 'cause he sent this May 5th and I haven't had time to answer and I feel so bad v.v
