Japanese Family BBQ

At a sushi bar found bicycling back from Aikido, I met a handful of japanese people. The best way to meet people is to drink o-sake with them. Conversation helps, but is clearly secondary. Two of the people I met helped me find a hotel for Comiket, one of them was Ryuichi Furukawa ( Read more... )

Not sure about next year. I want to do my next FWT here, but I haven't done any work finding a job, and am running out of time to do any sort of interview thing here. Might be next summer, might be later, there's a chance I could find something with Nova or something and teach english for FWT. Surprised you're so eager to see me though, Ukyou-kun. (Who are we kidding, it's just the codeine. 8*) Ahh, I jest, darou. Hanging in Tokyo would be good fun. Maybe we'd find a maid cafe in Akibara and get a cute girl in french maid cosplay to spoon-feed you. Or you could see where all the other straight fags - I mean hip straights - hang out in 2chome's clubs. I haven't been to either yet, but they shouldn't be hard to find. (I've been to Akibara but not the maid cafes.) I usually go to K-Books and Tsukigi Fish Market's Daiwa Sushi for good times, but whatever works. 8*)

I kind of would like to see japan, travel to the country, stuff like that, but travel is much better with one or two other people, lovers of mine or close friends traveling dutch, so that's also up in the air. Tokyo has a New York vibe, and I've heard Kyoto feels more suburban, but I haven't been. The Japanese countryside would be high on my list for travel, but I think I want to get really solid with japanese first or be traveling with a native, since english support in the boon-docks is laughable.

The furoshiki is...floral with odd geometrical shapes separating the shifts in the colors and flowers...kinda a hard thing to describe, but it's not at all repetitive and the leaves of the flowers blend from green at the base to blue at the tips.
