God is nothing more than a psychological invention of fearful and neurotic individuals.
Ha, did I scare ya? I'm really enjoying my reading for my Philosophy class. Yeah, I have to take 9 credit hours worth of Philosophy here at college, because we are a "Liberal Arts" school, so it's part of my "well-rounded" general education here in addition to my major. I tend to have the mind-set that I want to take just major-related classes (Biological sciences), but I seem to enjoy the branching I get when I take history and philosophy classes. I just began my reading, but I get to explore areas of philosophy that deal directly with my life and my world. It goes into American capitalism, the nature of the existence of God, sociology, psychology, human rights, justice (law), and anything. Taking one class like this is good as a part of your repertoire, but as my prof even said this morning, philosophy majors will end up waiting tables or driving cabs (it's not even a major here). I would say to not ever major in the subject, but it is fascinating, worth thinking about, and a good intellectual journey. It makes for a good part of your experience no matter what your major, and I think it will get me to develop my beliefs and thoughts even more.
Blooga-blah! Oh yeah, and classes are going really well; today was a pretty good day for a first day. I'm approaching Organic Chemistry in a new way this semester that will hopefully help me a lot. Then I have Philosophy, Spanish 102 (lol), and Genetics (my favorite!). I have other things like research and TA'ing on the side, so I'll be booked like last semester, but I'm ready to give it everything.
And...Kit is back today! Yes! Phone time soon!
