First Impression - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
It’s been two weeks since Jin and Kazuya had finally met each other again. Jin kept visiting Kazuya everyday and he would always stay for a couple of hours. He even brought Ryo with him once, introducing him to Kazuya. Even though Kazuya is still abused by Matsumoto, the beatings were less now, since Matsumoto’s probably hitting another student now. Jin would always come after every lesson, making sure that Kazuya is not hurt further by the Sensei.
One evening, after Kazuya had met up with Jin, he saw Ueda sitting on their room looking blankly out the window. Worried, Kazuya called his name twice only to be ignored. He walked across the room and shook Ueda hard. Ueda snapped back into reality and looked at Kazuya.
“Nani?”
“Tat-chan, you’ve been acting weirdly these few days. Is it because of your upcoming Mizuage ceremony?”
Ueda looked flustered when Kazuya brought that subject up and faintly nod. He looked at Kazuya “Ne, can I tell you a secret?”
“Hai! Of course!”
“Promise me that you’ll keep it a secret!”
“I promise!!”
Ueda smiled and took a deep breath “I’m in love.”
Kazuya looked at him trying to process that information through his head “You’re….in love..? B-but Tat-chan! WITH WHO?”
Ueda looked troubled “I-it’s with him…”
“WHO??”
“NISHIKIDO RYO!” Ueda blurted the name out
Kazuya looked at him, speechless “Nishikido…as in Jin’s friend…Nishikido?????”
Ueda blushed and looked down “Hai…” he mumbled.
“How did you guys meet?”
“Remember that time Jin sent you to the doctor 2 weeks ago and he shooed me out after you were treated by the doctor? Well…I met him there.”
Ueda’s face became dreamy…
2 weeks ago, at the alleyways
Ueda was waiting patiently for Kazuya at the back of the Hospital. He was thinking deeply about his mizuage ceremony and wondered about his Danna. He let out a huge sigh.
“Ne, why are you sighing?”
Startled, Ueda’s head snapped up and he blushed when he saw a rather good looking man eyeing him.
The man smiled teasingly at him “Well…are you going to tell me why?”
“A-ano…I’m just worried about…something, that’s all.”
“Hmm…really? And what are you worried about?”
Ueda quickly tried to think of a lie…he didn’t want this man to know that he is a Geisha…and that the thing he’s worrying about is his mizuage ”I’m…I’m just worried about my friend…he’s in the hospital right now.”
“I see…”
Ueda felt anxious…what if…what if that man doesn’t believe him? He kept babbling on and on about Kazuya, and how he’s really worried by him until the other raised his chin. That silenced him. He was enraptured by the other man’s eyes and his heart started beating faster. He was about to say something when Jin and Kazuya interrupted them. Startled, Ueda quickly tore his eyes off the other’s and walked to Kazuya as calmly as he could.
“Ryo? What are you doing here?”
Ueda and Kazuya looked surprisingly at him.
“You know him Jin?”
Jin walked towards Ryo “Yea…he’s the friend that accompanied me to look for you.”
Kazuya smiled at him and bowed “Nice to meet you, I’m Kazuya, and this is my friend Ueda Tatsuya.”
Ryo nodded and bowed slightly in reply “Nice to meet you too, I’m Nishikido Ryo.”
Jin looked at Kazuya “I have to go now, but I promise you, I’ll visit you every day at your Okiya…kay?”
“Un!”
Jin smiled at him and gave him a quick peck on his forehead, making both Ueda and him blush. Ryo looked annoyed “Anou sa… can you please not show any sort of lovey-dovey stuff here?”
He turned around and started walking away.
“Alright…I gotcha” and with that, he turned around and followed his friend, but turned around once more to wave goodbye to Kazuya.
*Back to the present stage…*
“So is that all? And you fell in love with him at first sight?”
“No…not really, you know he sometimes visited you with Jin? Well, he kinda met up with me during those times and… I guess I fell more and more in love with him and he kinda confessed his…feelings for me.”
Ueda’s face turned red as he said those last words. Kazuya smiled at him…”It’s okay…Tat-chan…”
“No, it’s not! You have no idea! If my danna is not him…I’ll never be able to meet him again!”
“Wait…Tat-chan, does he know that you’re going to do your ceremony very soon?”
Ueda shook his head. “I didn’t want him to know…he gets jealous really easily…and I don’t want to burden him by asking him to become my danna.”
“Ueda-kun, are you ready?”
A sudden voice interrupted them; Kazuya and Ueda looked up and saw Tanaka Koki, a famous tailor.
“Eh? Tanaka-san, why are you here?”
Koki let out a huge sigh “Well…I’m supposed to take your measurement for your clothes today and get it all ready within 3 days.”
Kazuya scowled at the idea of having his ceremony in a few days but went up and followed Koki out anyways. Kazuya followed him and was stopped by one of his juniors telling him that Kitagawa wants to meet up with him.
Once Kazuya got inside the room, Kitagawa flashed him a wide grin. “Well, Kazuya -kun, congratulations.”
Kazuya looked confusedly at him “What do you mean?”
“You have somehow attracted lots of customers, and most of them called me saying that I should try and hold your Mizuage ceremony soon, and I agreed.”
Kazuya felt his whole world crumbling down when he heard Kitagawa said those words. “No! Please! You…you can’t do that to me! I’m begging you! I’m only 14 years old!”
“Well…the younger you are, the more interested people will be, and you’ll have more suitors to become your danna. Rich suitors, and besides…you’re turning 15 soon.”
“No…please...”
Kitagawa shook his head “I’m sorry, but no. I’ve already told my men to spread the word around about your mizuage. It’ll be held one month after Ueda’s and I’ve already told all our senseis that none of them may be allowed to hit you… we want you in full health and your skin must be flawless.”
Kazuya was speechless. Kitagawa turned to him “You may go now, and don’t forget to practice your dance movements.”
Kazuya walked feebly back towards his room. When he arrived there, Ueda was already waiting for him “Kazu! Where were you?”
Kazuya fell on his knees and tears were flowing out of his eyes. Ueda looked concerned at the sudden outburst and tried his best to comfort Kazuya. He hugged the young boy and soothed him gently. “What’s wrong…?”
Kazuya sobbed loudly at Ueda’s shoulder and after a while, his sobs turned into little sniffs and he wiped his face. “Tat-chan, I’m sorry for worrying you like that…”
Ueda looked impatiently at him “What’s going on?”
Kazuya’s voice was barely audible when he told Ueda the news “Kitagawa-san told me, that I have to perform my ceremony soon.”
Ueda’s eyes widened “WHAT! But…but you’re only 14!”
“He said that there’s quite a few people who’s interested in me…and it’s best to do it soon.”
Ueda looked worriedly at him “I knew that some men held their mizuage ceremony at a young age of 14…but Kazu, how soon is soon?”
Kazuya looked at Ueda “one month after yours.”
“That’s so soon!”
Kazuya nodded “I tried to plead, but he ignored me.”
“Kazu, it’s okay. I’ll have the experience earlier than you, and I’ll be able to help you after my ceremony. So don’t worry, kay? I’ll try my best to help you.”
Kazuya nodded and he quickly looked up to Ueda “Promise me one thing…please don’t tell this to Jin…I don’t want him to know either.”
“I promise”

On the day of Ueda’s mizuage ceremony…
Ueda’s hand was shaking as he tried to pin his hair up. Kazuya sighed and took the hair pin out of his hand. “Mou…Tat-chan, all you have to do is ask one of use to help you.”
The room was full of senseis, senpais and kouhais trying to help Ueda get ready for his ceremony. He was wearing a purpled-colour hikizuri with silver embroideries. Kazuya pinned his hair up with a silver hair pin with some purple encrusted jewels. Ueda looked pale as Nakamaru sensei walked forward towards him and handed him a cup of warm liquid. He cringed at the smell “Anou…sensei, what is this drink?”
“It’s a medicine to help you relax for tonight…the effect will take place half an hour after it is drunk, so drink it now.”
Ueda quickly gulped the warm liquid down and shivered at the bitter taste. Nakamaru let out his hand to guide Ueda out. Kazuya whispered good luck to him and squeezed his hands tight before letting him go out of the door.
Kazuya sighed, he won’t be able to see Ueda for a few days now…

Kazuya was practicing his shamizen when a bunch of people rushed out to the front door. He put down his shamizen quickly and wondered what it is all about. He stopped one of the juniors and quickly asked him what’s happening.
“It’s Ueda-san…he’s back!”
Kazuya quickly ran out of his room and crowded along the hallway with the others. Lots of people was asking Ueda all sort of questions
“How was it?”
“Was your danna nice?”
“How much..?”
Questions after questions kept coming out, but all Ueda did were smile at them and when he noticed Kazuya, he grabbed Kazuya’s wrist and dragged him back inside their room.
Once inside, Ueda quietly closed the door behind him and motioned to Kazuya so he could sit next to him.
“Ne…Tat-chan….how was it?”
At first, Ueda was silent…his head was down. He slowly looked up and Kazuya was surprised to see tears at Ueda’s eyes. “Tat-chan! What’swrong?”
“Ryo….”
Kazuya looked worriedly at him “What’s wrong? Ryo..? What’s wrong with him?”
Ueda suddenly smiled “He’s my danna!”
Kazuya looked shocked. “How…?”
“He found out through someone and he wanted to surprise me.”
“How much..?”
“20,000”
“That’s good! That must be one of the highest bids in history ever”
Ueda blushed at the praise.
“But Tat-chan…did it hurt? Your first time ever…”
Ueda blushed “Well…I don’t know what happened, but when I woke up, I couldn’t really walk since it hurts and I was so surprised to…well, you know…found myself naked in bed with Ryo next to me.”
“So what did you guys do for the rest of the days that you were gone?”
If Ueda’s face could turn any redder…it just did. “We…kinda did it again and again.” Ueda muttered
Kazuya looked at him “Well…does it hurt the second time..?”
“No…not really, in fact…it felt kinda good after the first time.”
Kazuya looked uncertainly at Ueda “Ne…are you sure? Does it not hurt with certain people…or does everyone feel good all the time?”
“I don’t know about that…but don’t worry, you’ll be fine.”
Kazuya nodded and sighed…wondering what will happen to him in a month’s time.
A/N: This is my longest update ever...and I'm sorry for not updating that quick...exams are coming up in 3 weeks..and all my assignments are due this week, next week...and the week after...><
