Exercises and research
so I've done quite a bit of research for my NaNo book this year. I even have names and such picked out ahead of time. I really suck at naming characters. Case in point... I was researching name meanings and such and was putting characters and such together for a chinese sounding name for my main character. Somehow i originally named her Jun Mei
like the months...der.
I have since renamed her.
I have been practicing writing a few snippets in her POV to get an understanding of how she thinks. I don't typically write from a female's perspective so it's a little different for me. I think the last thing I wrote from a woman's perspective was Meng Die from Anita Blake and it was really rather dark and disturbing to think like her.
Also, I blame Avatar for the birth of this plot. It's all that show's fault.
