I use Madesafe Photopaint. I bought it because it was cheap. ;__; But, I have no idea what some things do, so I end up just using the same techniques over and over again. My banner was just a lot of overlays and screens. Maybe a multiply every now and then. Nothing special. x(
Crap, you're right there's no tutorials D: Do you have photoshop? The one I use usually is Elements 3.0 which is pretty basic, so maybe you should look for it (you can also download different versions somewhere I'm sure).
