So.
I am alive. Obviously. Which means I survived the holiday season.
Now, I'm revisiting last year's resolutions and see how well I did with them.
1. Expand my culinary repertoire.
Success! Just in the last month, I've made molded chocolates, truffles, assorted cookies, and baklava.
2. Make more of an effort with my appearance.
Eh, I'll give that a half success/half failure. I've been playing with my hair and wearing makeup on occasion. Not often, though, which was what I'd wanted to do. Oh well.
3. Do well in my classes.
Gah, I'd have to count that as a failure. My bad. It took me three tries to pass Math 99, and I procrastinated horribly about registration.
4. Finish a writing project.
Fail. So much fail. I started one piece, but writer's block has kinda put it on hold. The original piece needs to be revamped on top of that. So not happy about that.
5. Start reading more books.
Success. Surprisingly.
6. Once a month, do something educational outside of school.
Fail. That one didn't even last a month, if I'm remembering right.
7. Learn to drive and get my license.
Eh, 50/50 again. I can drive, now, but I'm not totally comfortable yet and I haven't gone for my license. I have my learners'/instructional permit, but that's it.
And here's to making my
1. Try to finish my damn degree.
I'd already resolved to switch my major. The new degree is a one-year certificate in a field I'm practically guaranteed a job in. It doesn't hurt that I'll actually enjoy it.
2. Get my license.
I'm almost there, so this should be a cinch. Knock on wood.
3. Write more, read more.
Again, this seems doable. Keeping my fingers crossed, though.
4. Get a job.
This one is something I should have done a long time ago. I freely admit that. I'm almost thirty and I've held a grand total of one job. That's it. It's kind of pathetic.
