Immediately after turning into a human, Erebus ran into Hogsmeade, where they say he started biting people in the face. Apparently when you're an owl and you do it you're a nuscense, but when you're human and do it it's assault. Hypocrites.
They're holding him in the Ministry of Magic until his council can be held. They said I could bail him out for the time leading to trial for 60 galleons. Are they out of their magical minds?! Do they have any idea how long it takes to earn 60 galleons on a teacher's salary?! I make less than an galleon an hour, I'm not going to waste it bailing out my bird!
I figure he can cool off there until the spell wears off, then just fly home. They can't rightly keep a bird in prison, after all. Really, how long can this spell last? One, maybe two weeks max? He won't even make it to trial by then. And on that note, if I did pay his bail, and he didn't show up for the trial, I'd never see that money again.
60 galleons, really. I could buy a new bird for that amount.
