Kurama, perfect student that he is, wouldn't be missing any assignments :] He's also thinking about becoming either an Auror or a researcher at the Ministry of Magic (or both, if possible), if he was asked during the career counseling sessions.

Yukari: Auror, eh? Honorable profession. 'Course there's an higher likelihood you'll get yourself killed. Researcher would be safer, but the pay is lousy. Death pays well. No, you'll never make much as a researcher. Unless you invite something big. Preferably something that kills things. Those always pay big bucks.

Shuichi: I... wasn't thinking about what I would earn, but money is indeed an important factor.

Yukari: Exactly! So if you become a researcher, you'll want to invent something that kills things!

Shuichi: *Wondering if he should keep the conversation going in this direction* Plenty of methods to - "kill things" - already exist..

Yukari: Of course! And the people who made them are all rich now!

Shuichi: *sighs mentally* ..Yes. Well, do you have any course recommendations for me?

Yukari: For creating stuff to kill people? *thinks for a moment* Potions? I know you already take that, but y'know... pay attention. Oh, and Herbology. *glances at file* It says here you're already good at that. That's good; there's lots of things in Herbology that can kill people.

Shuichi: *edges of lips twitch* Yes, there are. I meant, do you know of any courses that could prepare me for a career as an Auror or a researcher, or should I keep concentrating on the cores - Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfigurations, Potions, and so on?

Yukari: Eh... *shrugs* Applied Defense Against etc etc. It'll give you good practice for using your Defense skills. And Dueling can't hurt, either. That's for if you want to be an Auror. If you want to be a researcher, you'll need to know lots of Arithmancy. Can't be mismeasuring spells and such.

And they'll probably tell you that Ancient Runes are important no matter what you do. *glances around to make sure Ghost Bob isn't in the room* But between you and me, I never use them. *shrugs* If they had any modern significance they wouldn't be called "Ancient"; they'd just be called "Runes". Unless you find it interesting or something, I wouldn't bother with it.

Shuichi: *thinks that Runes do have significance, but doesn't feel like arguing x_x* Thank you. Who teaches Dueling?
