Name: Yukari Takeba

History: Yukari’s story starts ten years ago when she moves to Iwatodai, intending to investigate the mystery of her father’s death at the hands of the Kirijo Group. She does not meet with much success, and ten years pass before the protagonist arrives in April, Yukari having only joined SEES a short while before that. The beginning is somewhat rocky - Yukari cannot even use the Evoker in the opening cutscene as it distresses her too much - but her confidence slowly grows as SEES does, tight bonds of friendship forming.
Many battles are fought, but a few things are notable in regards to Yukari; a trip to Mitsuru’s summer mansion reveals a tape her father left in his last moments, telling them to defeat the Shadows. This is later proven to be a lie; Yukari learns the whole truth in early November, that her father had been fighting against the creation of the Shadows from the inside and that defeating the Shadows would initiate the Fall, calling Nyx and destroying the entire world. This revelation gives Yukari newfound courage and she lets go of a lot of repressed worry, allowing her Persona to evolve into Isis.
Things get a lot heavier after this. The Fall is coming and Ryoji reveals himself to be the Appriser, the one who will call Nyx to earth and destroy everything. There is a lot of worry from all members of SEES at this, but slowly everyone comes around, Yukari deciding fairly quickly that she isn’t going to lose and that she will fight to the very end, even if the odds against them are near-impossible. Her determination to save everyone, along with the rest of SEES and many of Minato’s friends, give Minato determination to become the Seal and save the world. Exhausted from this, Minato collapses on graduation day, falling into a deep coma. Yukari is taken from a few weeks after this.
In this interpretation of canon, Yukari has a maxed Social Link with Minato; throughout the year that Persona 3 takes place, she gradually learns to open up to Minato after realising that he is just as alone as she is and can perhaps understand what she’s feeling. Thus, she is very close to him, having been dating him from approximately July until January 31st, after which their memories were wiped until graduation day, after which Minato falls into his coma.
Personality: Yukari is an upbeat, cheerful teenager, having gained a lot of friends with her good looks and diligent attitude. She’s quick to make friends and usually has a smile on her face, but a lot of this is a front; she’s extremely careful not to let anyone get close to her and will react violently if anyone tries to touch her or ask probing questions. A lot of this is due to her falling-out with her mother several years ago; she has been living on her own in Iwatodai for the last ten years, searching for information leading to the truth of her father’s fatal accident in the Kirijo Group’s labs, and little success on this as well as being alone for so long has caused her to repress her emotions a lot, leading to some fairly violent mood swings. Simply put, she puts up an upbeat, happy front but is actually rather irritable and touchy.
While she tries to be brave as SEES makes their way through Tartarus, Yukari is actually one of the most distressed of the group, relying on sheer determination to make her way through. Through her S.Link with the protagonist we find out how she has come to be alone and how her need to be independent from others came to be, and through opening up to Minato she learns to rely on people a little more. Yukari does not trust easily, but once she does, she is willing to give her life for the people she cares about.
She also has a rather abusive relationship with Junpei Iori, based almost entirely on teasing and antagonising each other. While she has not let Junpei close to her either, even towards the end, her odd relationship with him denotes how she often uses ridicule to cover her awkwardness in certain social situations.
Abilities: Can fire accurately with a bow and arrow.
Has the power of Persona, manifesting into the form of Isis when she uses her Evoker; this Persona lets her cast wind-based and healing spells.
Possessions: Gekkoukan school uniform and her Evoker.

Her heart was almost thudding out of her chest as Yukari exited the train, looking around the new world she’d suddenly fallen into. She’d just been preparing to head out to cram school, pausing to turn the Evoker over in her hands - even after all this time, she slept with it by her bed, just in case. Just in case. - when she’d fallen, wide-eyed and yelling, and ended up here.
The first thing she noticed as she stepped out onto the little station was the moon. Green. The moon was green.
“Wh-what? No...it can’t be!”
Breathing picked up as she headed forward, the Evoker in a white-knuckled grip as she stared around. A tiny world, roses covering everything, empty of all other life...not Tartarus, then, but where? She heard her breath in the silence, ragged and fast, and tried to calm herself, to think it out. The first thing that came to mind was him, of course; damnit, Minato, why did you have to...you’d know what to do if you were here.
The second thing was more constructive. I’m not gonna lose. Yukari gave a small nod, steeling herself; even if she didn’t have her bow or her teammates, she wasn’t going to run away from a challenge anymore. She still had Isis behind her, that familiar presence in the back of her mind, so all she had to do was look around.
Her steps seemed thunderous as she headed down the small slope, weaving around beds of roses and casting her eyes around the place. Aside from all the plantlife, it seemed...empty. Quiet. Her grip on the gun relaxed somewhat, free hand rising up to sweep through her hair. This wasn’t so bad, really...she could handle this.
“Alright, whatever you are.” she murmured, glaring around at the green-lit darkness. “Come on out. I’m not going to lose to you.”
