I bought the fabric I want to start making my costume for the Moresca ball. I still have no idea how to make a corset, the last few attempts have been getting better but I don't know how to follow the patterns and I've been combing the web for how to attach boning. I really want this to come out nice, I don't want to have to buy one online unless I

you need to make a casing for it. A corset is basically two layers. The boning casing, and the outer layer. The casing is the same size as the outer, but it gets sewn on either side of each of the places for the pieces of boning. It should then be bound on the bottom before the boning actually goes in. then the top needs to be bound. The places for the boning are notated on the pattern with dotted lines if I remember correctly. It's a pain in the ass to get the fitting just right though.
