Things I Didn't Plan For, But Might Be Cool Anyway
- keep an ear open for Gaia Online plot updates because I'm still reeling from the nerve they hit with the last one and I can't wait to see what they do next. I AM SERIOUSLY EXCITED ABOUT THE PLOTLINE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE '07. Hell, since before '07; I didn't think the vampires were all that interesting (except
Vladimir).
- stealing my brother's Castlevania game roms. *shifty eyes* Unfortunately, I can't find the emulator he was using for the N64 ones, so I got all of one game out of it.
- Schmitt Sonne Riesling wine. H-E-B has a huge wine/beer section, and the price tags for the wines included little recommendations, so I figured Spring Break was a time for experimenting. I chose a riesling because I've heard good things about them and the pairing recommendation was for poultry, and I bought a ton of chicken thighs for this week. The brand is one I've seen up in Dallas, so if I like this I might buy it again.
- H-E-B also has mead (honey wine), but I figured I might put buying that off until the return trip so I'm not tempted to open the bottle before I travel; that's kind of illegal. Mead is, as I understand, fairly easy to home-brew; you mix the honey and water with something for flavoring, start the yeast, mix, and leave it to fate for a couple of months.
Speaking of homebrewing, when I get back to Dallas, it's getting warm enough for me to start thinking about kvass again. It turned out great last year, and it might add some verismilitude to the D&D sessions to have a strange east-European beverage to pass around.
ALSO ALSO ALSO
this might amuse people even if they don't give a crap about Gaia Online. It's by Gaia artist Reapersun, who has been on a Robot Unicorn Attack binge recently.
