Yugi had finally started going back to school, for once happy for the work they piled on and the distraction from the truth lurking around him.
He had found out that his dream hadn't been a dream, and the thief was real. Just as real as he or Atem.

He'd tried to pretend nothing had changed, it was much harder now and he couldn't bare to be around Atem without freezing or crying. He was glad for the weekend, and just left the house. No note, no nothing. He just wanted out.

He walked down the street to the bus stop, hands tucked in his jacket pocket and hood over his head. He didn't feel like standing out right now.

Bakura followed a little distance away. For once, he'd abandoned his spiffy red coat in favour of something more discreet. At least, he was told it was rather discreet, though he was sure that people, women in particular, were still staring in his general direction. More accurately, at the general direction of his jean-clad rear end.

The jeans were black and clung just enough to show off his trim physique, though he would have preferred a looser fit for comfort. On top of that, he wore a black hoodie over a cream v-necked t-shirt, zipped up to his neck with the hood up to hide his hair. The Ring, of course, was kept next to his skin, hidden from sight.

Casually, he sauntered up to the bus stop where Yugi was pretended to look at the sign.

Yugi rubbed at one of his eyes slightly, tired and exhausted from not getting any sleep lately. He wouldn't be able to fall asleep next to Atem. And he couldn't really tell him to let him sleep alone...

Yugi glanced at the person standing next to him, not taking any mind as he continued to wait for the bus. His hand fisted gently against his chest, the habit for comfort although old never leaving. He would do anything to have the familar warm weight around his neck, the warm spirit inside.

It was almost amusing that all it took was one article of clothing to turn him into a different person. Then again, hoods were always great at hiding faces, though once upon a time, they would have been looked upon with suspicion. Thank the gods for fashion.

He was finally getting somewhere in terms of learning the language. Japanese, it was called. He'd tried it out at some places and found that it was quite manageable, especially when you looked like a foreigner and the people were more willing to overlook your mistakes. He still had trouble if people talked too quickly, but it was better than nothing.

"Good morning," he greeted, turning to Yugi and giving the boy a smile. "Where you going?"

Yugi glanced at the person, the hood overshadowing his face and hiding the tell-tale scar that would give the thief away. He recognized the voice...but was far too tired to even begin to place it.
"...Good morning." He smiled. A tired smile. "I'm not really heading to anywhere in particular, just getting out...you know. The house can be a very cramped space sometimes."

Bakura took a moment to sort out the sentence in his head, pleased that he understood most of it. Now what would he say in reply?

"Going for food?" he suggested, just to see how long he could keep up this charade.

Yugi narrowed his eyes slightly, he didn't much want company from a stranger. A very not-so-nice looking stranger at that. "...not really," He shifted uncomfortable, wishing the bus would hurry. "I'm not hungry, it is a very nice idea though."

Come to think of it, Yugi seemed a little tired. And while he was trying to decode the language, he suspected that he'd missed the meaning. Was the Darkness doing anything?

A quick look around confirmed that they were about the only people hanging aroun, save for some stray pedestrians scuttling up and down the street.

"Has Atem been good?" asked Bakura casually.

"He's alrig-" Yugi froze, glancing back at the person with wide eyes. "W-who..." He stepped back a bit, no longer caring for a bus ride and tucking his hands in his pocket. Maybe he had imagined that? HE wouldn't put it past himself. "Excuse me." He said quickly and started away from teh bus stop.

Sniggering slightly, Bakura gave Yugi a head start before trailing him again. This place was still too close to the game shop for his liking. The Darkness probably knew about his interference by now, and he didn't want to be anywhere near it anytime soon, especially since it'd insisted that he kept his hands off Yugi.

Yugi noticed him following and stiffened, picking up his pace and when he turned the next corner start off in a sprint down the street. Although with such small legs he knew he wouldn't get far but he had to try.

Damn, he'd been spotted. Glancing over his shoulder and judging the distance, he figured it was about safe to exercise his God-given right, taking a moment to duck into an alley.

Diabound

Big. Big enough to ride. Climbing onto the invsible monster, Bakura faded from sight. Now, where had Yugi gone? Around the corner, wasn't it?

A small figure, running.

Follow

...but not too closely, of course. The more distance they put between them and the game shop, the better. At an appropriate point in time, he'd do something he'd always wanted to do...

Yugi continued to run, he ran until he didn't even see anyone in sight. And he finally decided to rest, leaning against the side of a building and catching his breath.

What had just happened? Someone had asked him about his other self...maybe he's just over reacting. It might of been him, he really wouldn't be surprised if he had imagined it. He slumped against the wall, willing his body to relax.

Bakura dropped silently behind Yugi and tapped him on the shoulder.

Yugi couldn't stifle the jump, and stammered back before he fell over his own feet onto the floor.
"...Bakura."

"Good morning," said Bakura very pleasantly, reaching out a helping hand. "There is something important I need to ask you."
