To The Rescue

When: Right after Mokuba saw this.
Where: From the Seto mansion to Germany
Why: Because Mokuba can't stand to see a friend in danger
Rating: PG 13 (will possibly be raised later for violence and adult themes)

The engine roared to life, trembling with carefully contained power and Mokuba bounced in his seat, anxiety and anticipation translating into a restless energy. His mind listed and rejected plans rapidly, nervousness turned his stomach and he tried to think of anything and everything he could possibly do to prepare for the rescue and retrieval of his friend. He did suddenly realize there was something he was forgetting and quickly dug out the cell phone from his pocket.

He dialed a familiar number and listened impatiently for the person on the other end to pick up.

He couldn't possibly NOT tell his girlfriend about the awesome thing they were about to do!

Her cell phone rang and Shizuka looked at the number. Mokuba! She giggled and picked up on the third ring. Her boyfriend!!

"Hi Mokie! What's up?"

She flopped on her back onto her comforter and kicked her legs in the air. Talking to him always gave her an energy boost. Like she wanted to run and play and laugh until she couldn't anymore.

"Shizuka! We're gonna go rescue Leon!"

That certainly popper her upright.

"Leon? You're getting him? Who's going with you? You'll be alright, won't you?" Questions bubbled up and out of her.

"Of course we'll be alright! We've got Seto and Jou and Yugi and me! Oh, and probably Mana and the other Yugi too. But we're gonna kick so much ass! oops." A hand flew to his mouth and he looked guiltily out of the corner of his eye to see if Seto had noticed the cuss word. "Um, we're gonna kick so much butt."

"Alright. Make sure Jou doesn't get in too much trouble." She giggled, his optimism contagious. "Good luck, though. And bring Leon back safely with the rest of you." She was serious on this point. No way did she want Mokuba or Jou or any of the others to get hurt in any way. Seto included.

"I promise," he said sincerely and without all the boldness and pomp that usually accompanied his speech. "I'll call again as soon as I can, ok?"

"Ok." The laughter gone from her voice though a smile remained. "When you bring Leon back and he gets better, we should all go to an amusement park or something. It'll be fun and cheer him up."
