NYAF Text update!
Congratulations to s0nified & umister for winning the World Cosplay Summit US qualifiers!
You girls deserved it, no matter what anyone says. All the entries for the masquerade AND WCS were very enjoyable and all very good. A few people and I joked that it was the "everybody wins con" because I think we handed an award to almost everyone who participated.
There's just so much to say about the weekend. Overall NYAF was a huge success and I had a lot of fun judging and doing interviews. There were NO cosplay photo shoots this weekend as I was way too busy to spend any time with them. I got to see a lot of friends who I knew would be there, and was even surprised by a handful that arrived last minute! I wish we had all had more time to just HANG OUT rather then being carted around for interviews and photos or having to watch booths.
One of the interviews I did was for NYAF/Cosclips calender by http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/, but I don't think they have the video up and running yet.
My guest for the weekend was Jackie from COSmode magazine. He was very impressed with the east coast cosplay and had a really great time at the convention! There wasn't enough time over the weekend for me to show him NYC so he is planning on returning for a normal non-convention trip. Right now he's in Nevada on a business trip working closely with some one we all know. I can't make any official announcement yet as to what's going on, but it's going to be a lot of fun and I cant wait to tell you all!
I'm uploading the vlog from this weekend right now, there wasn't as much taken like there was at AUSA, but again this is mainly because the weekend was so PACKED with work work work that I never really had time to take my camera out and do an at con report.
Thank you to EVERYONE I judged with, and thank you to all the STAFF and volunteers at NYAF who really made the weekend a blast for us all. You guys don't get enough credit after the con, lol.
