Chapter 1-Yue and Jo
He had been flying upon his broken, shedding wings all night and was about to give up. He knew he shouldn’t though for to touch down now in a city that he didn’t know with his wings out…
He shuddered; just thinking about what the city’s people might do to him caused him to hurt. I have to find her house soon. He thought and continued to fly through the pitch black sky.
Just then he caught a familiar scent and feel but in a minute it was gone. Turning around, he looked at the ground searching.
He had found her! Though she looked nothing like him, he had found her.
He lightly touched down in front of the young woman who he spotted.
“’Ello.” He said to her with a smile, “I’m Yue, Yue Xing.”
She stared at him, disbelief and wonder showing through her every expression.
“Who...Wait, why do you have wings and my last name?”
“I’m your little brother Yue; I have wings because I let them out to fly to you. Can we please go somewhere inside for me to explain a bit further?”
She studied Yue for a second then sighed.
“Yeah, sure. Follow me.”
When they reached a bakery, she led him around to the back to climb up some stairs to her apartment. After they entered and she turned on the light, she noticed her hair color.
“Blue?”
“Yeah blue, what the fuck else would it be?” She asked as she whipped around from the radio, forgetting that she was going to put on music.
“I dunno. I just thought it might have been more like mum’s.” Yue looked up at her, “I know this might sound funny but I don’t know your name. I only knew I had at least one older sister, you, and that you lived in this town.”
“Well, I live in many towns. I just got to this town the other day and I’m goin’ to my other house tomorrow.’ She sighed, “I’m now called Jo.”
“Jo?”
“Yeah, Jo. And your name’s Yue right? I don’t like that name.”
Yue stared at her with his mouth slightly open before it came to his head that he was supposed to respond in words.
“You what?”
“I don’t like your name. I’m going to rename you…hmm…how about Essence? ‘Cuz you look just like mom. Well, without the red hair.”
Once again, he stared at her in disbelief.
“I look like mom? I don’t wanna look like mom...”
Jo raised her eyebrow, “Well, do you want something to drink? Eat? Sleep in?”
“A shower and something to sleep in?”
“Follow me.”
She showed him the living room, the bath room, the closed door to her room, and the kitchen. They had entered through the dinning room, she also said, and that he could sleep in the living room.
In a few minutes after Jo showed him around, she appeared from her room holding a pair of pajama pants and a blanket.
“Here, these are for you to use. As is any shampoo stuffs that you want to use in the bathroom.”
Yue, now Essence to his sister, hugged her tightly.
“Thank you so very much.” He said to her as she was in shock at what happened. He grabbed the blanket and the pants, put the blanket down on her broken couch and went into the bath room for his shower.
