Part 1
Gato walked into his pillar garden with his robes flowing around him. His hair was straight unlike the way it was when he was born. His blue eyes burned with a fire of passionate anger from what was going on. He was like this because he had just come back from the court house.
If he was anyone else, anything else, this wouldn’t have happened. His wife would be alive. His son wouldn’t be exiled. He himself wouldn’t have his memory wiped.
Punching one of the pillars, he growled. If he only wasn’t an experiment to began with! Why had they created him to just let him be basically left for dead on the other side?
He punched the pillar again and it cracked. His lover, his baby boy…he’d never see them again.
Falling down to his knees, Gato let out a scream as he started crying with his face against the cold stone. Crying there like a child he asked why of everything. But he mostly asked why they had such a stupid law if it wasn’t forced upon anyone else. Why did the judge even have a wife of a different race and species as well as slaves?
After sitting there for a bit, he got up deciding that he wasn’t going to spend his last hours amongst stone.
Entering into the feline temple and prayed to his wife’s god that he will gain entrance into their form of pleasant after life as well as to watch over his son. Then exiting the temple to the left, he followed the passage way to a courtyard filled with all kinds of different colored cats.
Masiwo loved this place, it always had relaxed him. He was dead now but that wouldn’t stop Gato from being with the cats. This was a place that felt like time would stand still and the world would pass you by.
It was always a great feeling to Gato. He loved to watch Masiwo transform into a cat and play with the kittens…but that time period was over now.
He carefully removed the mirror he was to be going to the other side through. It was just a little bigger then both of his cupped hands but still too small to be clothed to go though.
Placing it on the ground, he stripped naked and transformed himself into a cat, an ability he barely ever used because he didn’t want to prove he was part cat, part elf.
As a black and brown tabby, he wandered around until he found the kittens. They mewed at him asking if he knew where Masiwo was, if he knew when Masiwo was coming back and if he was Gato.
He told them that Masiwo wasn’t going to be able to visit them anymore, that he left town yesterday afternoon and that he was Gato. After a minute of mewing about how they missed their older playmate, they started playing with Gato.
An hour later, Gato started to detangle himself from the young ones and headed over to the pond the courtyard held. When he reached it, he transformed back and walked into the clear blue water. Diving under the water, he went over his most precious memories of Masiwo and their child.
He prayed again after he had his head above water that he’d be able to keep his memories of them for as long as his body lived then swam to shore.
