Has anyone seen about a month's worth of semester? I seem to have misplaced it.
Anyway, had a very fun weekend. Daddy tried to hide Thud in my room in Sackville, but Mom wouldn't let him, so I got to read that. It was full of Pratchetty goodness. :D We were going to watch RotS on Wednesday, but Brat had hidden it, so we watched Oklahoma! instead. We came to the conclusion that the problem isn't that we're only seeing the show in bits, there really isn't that much of a plot. Still a fun show though. :p
Thursday was tramping all over Moncton on foot. I spent about an hour in Chapters waiting for Ryan, Cherie and Nicole. Came to the conclusion they weren't coming, called for a ride. Naturally, they chose right THEN to show up. :p I got to read Where Is My Cow?, which was SO cute. We headed to the Asian Market after that and bought Pocky. Because everyone loves Pocky. Then we headed over to Gamezilla, where all I bought was Vicki's Christmas present. My rule was that the only thing I was allowed to buy for myself was Sandman, and they didn't have Death: The High Cost of Living. I almost managed to get it as separate comics, but the third one wasn't there. They tried though. :p
I bought Endless Nights at Chapters... can we say GORGEOUS? An interesting set of stories, too. It was really weird seeing Dream and Desire getting along in Dream's story. That just didn't seem RIGHT in the universe. Dream's story was actually generally interesting. Delight was such a CUTE little thing. And grim!Death was just plain disconcerting. I really liked Destruction's story because it was fun to see him interacting with Delirium again. And of course, Death's story was Death. Neil Gaiman put it quite nicely in the introduction. "Death is the second oldest of the Endless. It's hard not to love her. She loves you, after all." Desire's story was the one people kept looking over my shoulder when I was reading. That was... awkward. :p Despair and Delirium's stories were really INTERESTING. Generally a great little volume.
I made my sister read the first volume. She thought it was freaky, and the freakiest part was that the freakiest story was NOT the one set in Hell. Freaky freaky freaky. :p She really hates Dream, it's amusing. I got her to read the manga too, which she seemed to like a bit better. Probably because it's cute, not creepy. :p
Must go to class, rest of weekend later. :p
