I really made you wait a long time... sorry! Anyway, here it is, part 9 of the hugely (un)popular Bad boys series!
Title: Bad boys don't cry - part 9
Author: me
Pairing: jinda is no more, but wait, is it? ryokame keeps happening, mostly on its own. koyapi didn't make it to this chapter but they will be back. some others and who knows what else in later parts...
Genre: basically crack-romance, but some people like angsting.
Rating: PG-15?.. (overall)
Disclaimer: Johnny owns the real boys, Tokyo Sports and other mags own the mighty shuffle idea, personal scandals, and Akanishi's supposedly badass personality. I own random characters.
Summary: SINCERITY's first single is about to be released, Ryo is a stalker and Jin tries to use his superpowers on Takizawa, but whom does he catch in the end?..
Warning: This is an ALTERNATE PAST fic, as the plot revolves around a few gossip magazines stories about what was supposed to happen in the year 2009, but obviously did not. Therefore, some things that actually happened in 2009 may end up moved in time or not happening at all in this fic, and different things go on instead.

Tsuyuake, trade of souls [part 9 - Summer, paradise in da house?]
Theme song: Heartsdales -
Paradise (feat. Miliyah Katou) No matter, how many times we'll get reborn
I will always know you are my only love
This love can cross both time and space
My love, it will find you anywhere
So don't cry when I'm gone
Even when you think it's for ever
Don't cry alone
I promise I'll find you again and again and again!
"The more we listen to it the more I'm convinced this song majorly sucks, and you know I can deal with a lot of crappy lyrics" Pi said as soon as the last tones of SINCERITY's first single, "Love crossing time and space", faded away. The rest of the band apparently weren't eager to comment, and heavy silence fell on the whole room.
Because of their various assignments as well as subteams' activity, they never actually entered the studio all together at once, and now was the first time they heard the song as a whole - with music, all vocals, and properly mastered, just like it was to get released in two weeks.
The silence continued, while their manager was desperately faking to look for important documents in her file, and silently cursing senior Kawahara who left her alone, just not to be the first one to speak before all the others gave out their opinions. Not that it mattered for the company, but it did matter for her capability to work smoothly with them for next half a year. She needed it very badly not to find herself the only person in the room that actually enjoyed the song.
"It... is a little cute" Taguchi finally spoke, looking around in searching for some support in other's faces. "You know, it's so sincere and... agh... I don't know..."
"Pure" the manager offered in half-whisper risking a quick look at the room.
"Yeah, pure" Junno nodded, he liked the word. "And as for the lyrics... it's not worse than the usual..."
"It isn't?" Kusano asked in genuine surprise.
"No, it could have been much worse" admitted Yoko, and everyone had to accept he was experienced enough with bad lyrics to say so.
"But technically, it's our debut song" Yamashita wouldn't give up just yet. "Isn't it company policy to hire some actual writers for debut songs?!"
"You mean like NEWS official debut song?" Kusano blinked and Pi gawked.
"...point taken. But that doesn't count, it was gay and catchy."
"Oh, this is going to be gay, I promise you that!" that was the manager. She didn't mean to say it, it kind of slipped out of her mouth when she remembered the last promotional-video-idea-sketching-meeting. And now they were all looking at her with despair, surprise, shock, hope, something she'd swear was lust if she didn't know better, anger, mild interest and two way to wide smiles, all mixed up in various combinations depending on the person.
"Well..." the manager grunted "you do know that about a half of the footage for this PV will be cut out from what you have recorded yourselves at Ogasawara and Okazaki..."
They nodded. Of course they knew. She grunted again and continued.
"Well, the other half will be dancing of course... and I had a chance to see your costumes. I mean, some of them. About 10."
"But there's only 7 of us" Hina reminded her kindly. The manager smiled at this display of good will.
"Oh, belive me, Murakami-kun, I know that" she said. "The costumes I've seen were only for Yamashita-kun. The other ones weren't sewn yet, the sewing department had to make some adjustments to the projects because some parts didn't look possible to make. But Kawahara-san wouldn't accept any major changes to Takizawa-kun's creations and it slowed down the whole process."
She wasn't sure what was it in her speaking that made all the boys go pale so suddenly. It couldn't have been the fact they would have 10 costumes for half a PV, they were used to handling a lot of clothes. So really, what could it be?..

Akanishi Jin was waiting outside the company building, playing with his cellphone. His practice has ended about an hour ago, it has been a real pain in the ass and the only thing he would really like to do was jump into some taxi, go home and sleep. Well, maybe score a girl on the way, but he was pretty damn sure that was the demon inside him if only for this once.
But his will was stronger than that, and Akanishi was still waiting. For Takizawa, or Kawahara, or whoever close enough to them to make using Jin's newly found supernatural powers worth the massive headache it was gonna give him.
He could not misplace Kamenashi literally strolling out of the building, and he managed to catch a glimpse of Nishikido sneaking out right after Kame, but he decided he wasn't interested for now. He had his own people to spy on. He focused on whatever information he had of Takizawa's schedule, analyzing it once again and making sure he was in the right place at the right time. It seemed so. However, there was one problem with the right time and place being then and there - it was where one could meet every and any Johnny's member, and it was after TRUST's practice. No wonder Ueda came out soon after Kame and Ryo.
"Hi" Jin said, but Ueda ignored him.
"I said hi!" not sure why it irritated him so much, Jin grabbed Ueda's arm and forced the latter to look at him.
"H-hi" Ueda stuttered, apparently very uneasy about meeting Jin.
"You could at least greet me properly, especially after last Wednesday" Akanishi demanded.
"Last Wednesday I almost got raped by a demon, and the very same demon happens to reside inside you right now" came as Ueda's answer. There was some logic in that, certainly. But still, Jin felt offended. Everyone could think of him as being driven by sexual needs only, everyone but Ueda. Ueda should know better and damn, Ueda of all people had no right to be afraid of Jin!
"I don't want to sleep with you anymore, you can rest assured!" that's why he said it so quickly, without thinking.
"Sure, of course, I'm sorry" still, Ueda ran away.
Something was painfully wrong between them. Possibly worse than when they were fighting openly.

Kame knew he was being observed. He knew the one doing the observing was Nishikido, and he obviously knew why it was happening. But he kept walking along the street as if he was totally oblivious to the stalker behind him. It was a bit risky to walk in the open like that, he should have hailed a taxi. But would Ryo manage to catch another one fast enough to go after Kame's? Things like two empty taxis stopping one after another only happened in romantic comedies made in USA, and Kazuya was too smart to consider it possible in real life. And he couldn't afford losing this particular stalker by any chance, now could he? He had already decided during the practice that Ryo would be granted some more love tonight and now he had to carefully exercise the plan.
Ryo himself, on the other hand, had no idea what was he doing going gods knew where after Kamenashi. At first he meant to catch up to Kame and talk, but somehow he couldn't bring himself to come close enough to speak, and the more time passed, the more awkward the idea seemed. But he couldn't stop the stalking. He was hoping maybe Kame would enter a bar or at least a shop where Ryo could then pop out unexpectedly and pretend it was a meeting by chance. They could then have a beer, or no, wait a glass of soda (the image of Ueda swinging a very heavy frying pan was still too fresh in his memory to even let Ryo himself order a beer), and talk things out. Sadly, Kame kept walking for a long time without stopping anywhere.
Finally Kamenashi turned right and went down some stairs, apparently entering a bar in the basement. Ryo sped up, happy that he was finally able to talk Kame up casually as if it was all a coincidence, but as soon as he got down the stairs, he found out there was no sign on the door indicating there has ever been a bar there, and the door itself was locked from the outside with a big padlock. That made Kamenashi entering the premises pretty much impossible, but before Ryo managed to properly realize that, he felt something cold touching his neck, jumped and screamed.
"Am I this spooky?" Kame's voice reached him from behind and when he turned around the guy was indeed standing there, inside a little niche opposite the door.
"No, you just have cold hands" Ryo admitted. This whole situation was probably very awkward, but actually felt funny. Ryo was much more relaxed than he expected himself to be.
"Then warm them up." ...yes, until that.
"Have you been drinking?" he asked, trying to sound casually. After all they came here straight from work. Kame has clung to his back again, forcing Ryo to look away at the ugly door, and asked in a husky voice.
"Would you stop me?"
"Actually I should" Ryo wasn't happy to admit that, but something inside him told him to keep things very neat in Kame's drinking department from now on. "I mean, Ueda made it my personal responsibility and he IS spooky."
"Nah, not so much..." he heard Kazuya laughing silently behind his back and then a pair of cold hands closed on his waist, and a string of hair that certainly wasn't his brushed the skin of his neck.
"What are you doing?" suddenly Ryo remembered his Alice experience in full colour and he panicked a little.
"I don't know" Kame stopped laughing and the itchy feeling that he was talking to a drunk person finally left Ryo. "Honestly, lately I don't know anything at all. This whole shuffle business, some people majorly scre*ing around, some other trying to make themselves into regular salary-men with a monthly deal of photoshoots, and the demons on top... sometimes I get a feeling I'm the only person left who's taking this job for what it really is, and I'm tired. I meant to comfort you when Uchi and Ueda sucked at it, but you know what, now I'm afraid I want you to comfort me more."
"And you'll stop drinking?" Ryo didn't know why he asked that, it came out of his mouth on his own.
Kame laughed again.
"You sure are afraid of Ueda, aren't you? I know you've always been. OK then, let's make a deal."
"A deal?"
Kazuya loosened the grip and let Ryo turn around to face him.
"If you comfort me, I won't need whiskey to do it in your place. And in turn, I'll help you smooth things out with Ueda for real. I mean, not just stop talking or fighting about whatever happened between you two all those years ago, but really clean up the mess."
Ryo panicked again and looked away.
"You... you knew?.."
"It doesn't matter". Kazuya looked him straight in the eye, but he was also smiling. Somehow, in this dark niche in the narrow basement entrance, in front of heavy, padlocked door, and practically pushed against a gray, dirty concrete wall, Kazuya looked cute. Not poster-cute, more like bitter-sweet-lost-kitty-five-years-later cute.
This time it was Ryo who caught him in tight embrace, following instinct. The instinct not to let go.

It was almost midnight and still no sign of Takizawa leaving the building. From time to time a recurring idea of Takki sneaking out through emergency exit was crossing Jin's mind, but then again, why would Takizawa do that? Even if he knew Jin was waiting, what was there for the man to be afraid of? Well, besides the demon of course, but Takki couldn't have known of that... or could he?
Jin felt his head was getting heavy again, as if he was to lose control in a moment. When he watched Pi being possessed, he assumed it would make a person angry, which would only help him add some fire to solving his case, but it turned out, it was way different. His ability to control emotions was unaffected, then again maybe because he was never good at it at all and so there was no high cliff to fell off for him, like there was for Pi. In turn, he was getting lazy. Even going after Takizawa, he practically had to push himself into it, even though there wasn't anything but his own willingness that run it. But now he would jump in and out of said willingness randomly. And at that very moment, hot July night, he was felt like dumping this whole sh** and going to the sea.
"Stalking my boyfriend again?" Jin jumped at the voice coming from behind his back. He turned around quickly, trying to calm down his racing heartbeat and looked at Imai Tsubasa in all Imai Tsubasa's diva grace.
"I'm..." Jin started but wasn't let to finish as Tsubasa held his hand against Jin's face effectively silencing him.
"You want answers about the shuffle" Imai didn't ask, he stated it as a matter of fact. He also mercifully removed his hand. "Fine, I'll give you answers."
Jin blinked.
"You?"
Imai nodded.
"Just like that? I mean, without hypnosis or..."
Imai rolled his eyes ignoring the hypnosis part completely.
"Yes, me, yes, just like that. Who do you think is a pro here at gathering info about Takki? And I have a key to his place, that helps a lot too. So you seem to be interested in what my boyfriend has to do with the shuffle?"
