a quickie

The office. A group of people are working on their computers more or less in silence. M, a.k.s. 'the boss who is always there' is sitting next to me and explaining how I am not going to be able to add example sentences to the wordlist, because. P (a.k.a. the boss who is never there) knows why and probably has some big plans for it, but no one else knows what are they. Suddenly, we see a girl in the front row jump away from her desk.

M: C, are you okay?
C (the girl): Yes, but there's a spider!
Some guy comes from behind us to fight the beast
me and M, in unison: Don't kill it!
M (continues): Don't kill the spider, give it to me!
The guy just takes the spider away
M: Well, I'd eat it if they gave it to me.
me (carefully expressing mild interest): You eat spiders?
M, in a very happy voice: Yes, they're good! A bit ticklish, like kimchi &hearts

...yeah, I like my new job.
M is Italian and I doubt he really meant to eat the poor thing... but then again there's no guarantee. Japanese eat those tiny silver fish whole, with tails and eyes and all the insides. They explain, with big smiles on, that these are too small and if you cut the heads and tails and throw away the intestines there's nothing left to eat (my freaking point exactly). They find it a great beer snack. Knowing this, I can pretty easily imagine M eating a spider, and if not for the fact that living spiders tend to bite, I would maybe even try it too.

Spiders don't look at you with vengeful eyes.
Litte silver fish do.

edit: almost forgot I promised you the picture of my guardian angel. Does it remind you of anyone yet?..

Yes, the author can say all he wants that he based Kenshin on another person, the maker of this doll apparently knows better. As for me, I don't care much and have just proclaimed Okada Izou my new personal favourite historical figure. It will make me watch two very bloody samurai movies in near future, and I'll probably find out Okada-sama was even more of a psycho than I already know he was, but hey, the doll still looks like my first anime love.
