I'm officially dead. I mean, tired.
This week is Rさん's birthday, so when I heard he wasn't planning anything on this occasion and had free time, I proposed we went out. So we did tod... yesterday.
At first we went to Kagurazaka, which really is as beautiful as they say. There's many narrow streets, old japanese-style buildings and... cafes and restaurants one on top of another and I mean it literally! It was fun just to walk around, but the wind was strong and we got a bit cold, so after a while we decided to... go for a walk elsewhere ;)
Elswhere being Harajuku.
Rさん felt the need to be a good guide and led me straight to a shop with celebrity pictures, 90% of whom were johnny's. He didn't even know I liked them, because when we talked about music, I told him (truthfully) that I prefer listening to other artists and consider johnny's TV personalities rather than musicians. It doesn't sound like something a fangirl would say, does it?
Rさん is strange enough to take me to all those popular department stores full of latest fashion, claiming that no, it's absolutely not boring for him, and then when I take him for his word and dive in, he steps out and waits for me in the hallways. I start feeling guilty, come out and ask if he wants to go somewhere else, but he says it's fine and goes straight from mori girl shops to lolita shops.
In the end he told me it's useful for his job to know what young girls like me are into. Oh, ok. For a short moment I got reminded of the age difference between us.
From Harajuku we went to Shibuya, in order to find a nice cafe, but what we found was Shibuya 109... yes, another famous department store. Does he secretly like them?.. Maybe being together with me was just a great excuse to enter the ultimate towers of frills and lace? Anyway, I ended up buying a dress there (`-_-). 3000 yen flew by...
Things I learnt today:
*as I thought, the true face of Evil is Hello Kitty
*"if we go along that street, there's a lot of love hotels"
"oh, i see. i didn't really need that information though."
"i'm telling you so that you'd look out for strange people there, really! and we're only going in that direction because there's a lot of cafes there too!" it either means I now know where lovehots are in Shibuya or that my friend is a bit of a スケベ. or both.
*My hair apparently resembles dog fur. I'm supposedly scarier than Sadako (and better with knives). And a ton of other a bit mean yet unharmful jokes I only pretended to care about.
*you can keep ordering caramel ice cream, caramel crepes and put way too much sugar in your coffee, and still claim you don't like sweets, because guys don't like sweets.
*Japanese during Joomon period didn't eat rice yet. (is that true? yes it is. the oldest proofs of harvesting anything at all are from Yayoi period)
*yes, you can play 10 different songs at once on the same considerably small floor and nobody's complaining.
*it's uncool for Tokyo resident to take a pic with Hachiko statue. I made Rさん take one with me anyway because I'm a bad, bad European.
*2NE1 released I don't care in Japan, naturally in japanese. you probably knew, but I only saw the PV today on a big screen in Shibuya.
PS: I want to go to Chara's concert in March, but alone?.. Rさん would insist on paying and that would make me feel bad, yet I can't afford to buy two tickets in advance. Takae is into totally different music. My Chinese room mates and classmates most likely never heard of Chara and besides, they won't spend 6000 yen on a concert ticket. Whom can I drag along with me?.. March 28th, JCB Hall, anyone attending?
