part 2

Theme song:Tarkan - Simarik

Hi, my name's Yamashita Tomohisa and I happen to be a man of great patience, but it does have it's limits. By the way, nice to meet you.

"Ryo-chan..." I sighed and rolled my eyes for eleventh time (counted). "Please calm down. Take a deep breath. Think of the mountains, of the calm ocean... rice fields at dawn, when it's chilly but it feels so fresh and it doesn't stink that much yet."

I was proud of all these beautiful metaphors (even if the last didn't turn out as poetic as I planned it to be), but one look at Ryo assured me he wasn't listening.

"I'm just saying it was the worst idea ever!!" He shouted as soon as he realized I looked at him. His face was red from anger and some other kind of excitement I couldn't quite put.

We were at my favourite lunch bar I visited often during short breaks we had around noon. But instead of having the lunch I ordered, I was watching it getting cold, and listening to Ryo. Ryo was so lost in his fury he forgot to put an order at all.

"The worst!" he repeated and focused his gaze on me, expecting an answer. I'd give him one if I had any idea what was he so angry about.

"Of course." I smiled. "Chicken salad? Sandwiches? This soup is also great." I pointed to my bowl while placing the menu under his nose and hoping that he wouldn't brush it off the table THIS time.

"I'm only saying..." he started yet again, but I was already tired of hearing the same sentence played on repeat.

"WHAT was the worst?" I cut in his speech. "Stop squeaking and tell me what happened or shut up and eat, we're running out of time."

Exactly. And my soup is getting cold.

Surprisingly, it worked. Ryo actually took the menu, hid his face behind it and mumbled.

"That jerk kissed me."

I almost swallowed the spoon.

Ueda was working. He looked exactly the same way he always did, and that is: bored, resigned and a little sad. And as calm as ever, although he sent a short glimpse over to Ryo when we entered the office after our lunch break. But I doubt Ryo realized it, busy pretending Ueda's not there.

I did though, and I smiled to Ueda, approaching his desk.

"Sorry to disturb you," I started, noticing he's not so much surprised. "It's about Ryo-chan."

I have never imagined Ueda could grin at all. And here I was witnessing him sporting the widest grin I have ever seen on anybody. If I didn't get a heart attack by the end of this day, I would consider myself a very lucky man.

"Is he not alright?" Ueda asked with what was supposed to be an indifferent tone, but it was failed miserably.

"So you really kissed him..." I sighed.

"Just his cheek. And apparently it didn't kill him." He answered, and I swear to Kazu's pants, he looked cute.

Ueda. Cute. Was that Kazu's influence? Anyway, I promised myself to stop by some shrine on my way home, and pray for all long forgotten souls of my ancestors. And tell Kazu I loved him. And go to sleep early.

"Ryo-chan is... a little homophobic..." I said in a low voice, hoping Ueda would understand exactly how much homophobic Ryo really is.

"I know," he answered just like that, again trying to look indifferent, and yet again failing to hide his satisfaction.

I've decided. That grin wasn't Kazuya's influence. Kazu-chan has never been a sadist, and this guy here was one for sure. I backed as soon as possible.

Ryo was eyeing us from his desk all the time, fuming silently. Since my desk was close to his, I had no choice but to get closer to that almost-erupt volcano, and the first thing I heard when reaching my destination was:

"...and just look at that ridiculous smile, what is he so happy about?! That damned faggot!"

"Thank you, Ryo-chan." I snorted.

"Oh, I didn't mean you."

"But I AM a faggot all right."

"But you're not a damned faggot alright?"

I rolled my eyes trying to let him know what do I think of his differentiating. But he didn't seem interested, already back on the track with spitting invectives Ueda thankfully couldn't hear.

"That princess f**cked in the ass and hell I mean it, what is he thinking?! That he'll get me, the straightest of the straight, with that miserable counterfeit of a kiss, I'm so disgusted even thinking of it..."

"Ryo-chan?" I couldn't help stopping him, after hearing something rather interesting.

"Yeah?" He looked at me.

"You think he actually has a thing for you?" I blinked at my friend's amazing ability of jumping to conclusions.

"Yeah," he nodded. "That donkey face used the first opportunity I gave him to kiss me, right? And besides, I'm the hottest man in this office."

"I wouldn't agree..." We've heard two voices coming from behind our backs. When we turned around, Takki was standing there along with Akanishi Jin. I gulped, sensing danger.

"Pi-chan is." Our boss exclaimed with the maniacal smile I know from my childhood and still see in nightmares even now.

"W-w-what about Imai-san?!" I stepped back as soon as Takki stepped forward.

"Oh, Tsubasa is the hottest man on Earth, but he doesn't belong to our office." Takizawa explained while his arms were spreading.

"What about me?!" Akanishi asked apparently shocked, but he was ignored as Takki got in the evil mood already.

"Call me Papa! Give me a hug!" I was hoping he wouldn't do that when we were both at work but I was wrong. I left Ryo to fight with Jin over who's sexier, and run away as fast as I could, with Takki almost literally on my back.

Finally I reached the very same archive room I talked with Ryo in not so long ago, and managed to lock the door before Takki got there.

I let out a loud breath.

"Who's there?" I heard Kame speaking from behind the nearest cabinet.

"It's me, darling. I'm hiding from our boss."

"Oh."

How I loved his answers, full of sympathy and concern.

"You could ask me why." I suggested.

"Why?"

I couldn't tell if he obeyed my plea or wanted to know why should he ask, but I chose the first option for my own sake.

"Him, Ryo and Jin were fighting over who's the hottest man in the office, and Takki got crazy again." I let it out, hoping Kame would come to let me hug him and comfort myself.

"Really?" He didn't, however. "They were fighting over such a simple matter?"

He came out, finally, but I still couldn't reach him from my position at the door. Just a little closer, honey...

"Why do you think it's so simple?" I asked, leaning forward in an attempt to catch him.

"Well, because it is simple," he smiled sincerely and innocently. "I am the hottest."

Couldn't disagree.
