My last concert in Korea T.T

Jun 08, 2009 20:09

Today I feel like writing in this journal again.
This week will be my last real week in Korea. I will be here shortly for one or two days later this month, but on 24.6. I'll fly back to Germany already.
Time passed so fast, I can't believe it...
Wasn't it just yesterday, that I decided to go to Korea? And now it's all over already...
I think, what I will miss the most - except for the cheap food *haha* - will be the concerts in HongDae and in general.
Here in Korea many Pop-Concerts (more like Pop-Events) are free or really really cheap. The same is with big Rock-Events. These are not free, but really really cheap. I went to two big Rock Events in my time here and payed for both around 15.000Won (about 9Euro). Both were around 10 hours long. And in HongDae you can see many really cool bands on many occasions for around 12000-20000Won (7-12Euro).

Yesterday I went to my very last concert here in Korea.
The Rolling Fest began at 6pm in the Rolling Hall.
The Line-up was: Spider Monkee, Spotlight, Guys, Rainy Sun, Prana (Wiretap in my ear/내귀에 도청장치).

Spider Monkee was only the Opening. But before they came on the stage, they showed a short backstage video, in which they shortly introduced themselves. And after that they displayed their latest Musicvideo (maybe the first one). Actually they looked a little bit Visual Kei-ish XD Maybe because of their make-up. But the MV was more Visual Kei-ish than their stage appearance this day. They even asked the audience if they think that they look strange with all the make up and stuff in the video xD
Their music was quite good, if I have the chance, I would like to get a single or album before I leave. If not, than I will still pay attention to them in the future and follow their future activities (only through the internet though y_y).

Spotlight was the next band in the line up. My beloved Spotlight <3 I saw them live on so many events and it was still fun, although they only introduces one new song during that time and mainly played the same songs over and over again. But hey, I just LOVE these songs, so it's totally fine for me. The vocal said that he catched a cold (like everyone else), but he still sounded good as ever ^^~
If you want to listen to some of their songs, go to their cyworld club here: http://club.cyworld.com/club/main/club_main.asp?club_id=51919855 (maybe you might have to install an ActiveX-thing for Internet Explorer though)

It was the first time that I saw Guys (or Guyz...dunno). They were younger than I thought. Like really young. At least the Bassist looked like 16 or so. But I am too lazy now to look up more information about them and confirm it. The music was...okay, but nothing that I will miss. The funny thing is, that the vocal resembles a taiwanese actor/singer XD Gino, who acts in "Smiling Pasta" and also sings a song for the OST, which is one of my all-time-favorits.

Rainy Sun...ummm. I saw them once before. They are awful. Sorry to everyone, who likes them, but they are just to depressive for me. And before the vocal speaks in the break, he always says "uhhmmm" or "hummm" or something like that and it is just NOT funny. Okay, the last song they played was okay, but I was happy when they left the stage again *haha*

And last but not least: Prana (Wiretap in my ear/내귀에 도청장치). I just LOVE them as much as Spotlight. Their music is soooo good. It was the 4th time that I saw them (once at the Let's Spris Rock Festival, once at the New Year Festival, and once at the It's time to Rock Festival. At the last one they made a parodie of the Movie "Detroid Metal City" and the vocal "cosplayed" Krauser xD). After the New Year Festival (which was also in the Rolling Hall) it was the first time that I could take a good look at them (since I was practically in front of the stage) and I am SO happy, that they have seemed to have gained weight. Especially the guitarist looked like a skeleton last time. But now it was okay. The vocal also said something around this lines: "Recently we are very busy recording new songs, but please don't worry. We are also paying attention to our health now. We regularly go out to eat together. I know in the past, you all worried because of that". So it wasn't just my imagination last time.
And for the songs: Prana (I just stick to this name now, because it is easier to write. Normally I prefer the korean name, because it is such a tongue twister lol) are just SO much fun live. Espacially their songs "Feel" and "E-Mail". And "Magic Man" would have been, if they would have played it lol

Okay, so now a few Videos of my favorites:
