I saw Cars 2 today and much enjoyed it. I had to stiffle my laughter otherwise I would've spoiled it for the rest of the movie patrons.
Comments:
First of all, I would like to make the observation that if this movie had been live-action done with humans, it probably would've been rated PG-13. Cars die. On screen (or very nearly). No, this isn't a spoiler. It happens in the first 10 minutes of the film. Just sets the tone for a good chunk of the film.
The film is very Mater-centric which isn't a horrible thing (I rather like him) but I was hoping for a little more Lightning and Radiator Springs crew.
Sadly, I can't read kana very fastly but I swear I read "zuka" in one of the Tokyo scenes. *reminds self to stop thinking about the Zuka club from Ouran*
Wasabi is not ice cream. I knew what was coming. My mom learned the hard way that it is not guacamole, either, years ago. XD
Cars was about Lightning McQueen finding himself, friends and a home. Cars 2 is about Mater finding out who he is against the backdrop of spies and world car races.
I had a lot of laughs during the movie. It has Mater, how can I now laugh? Really, too many for me to list specific things. The one line I remember well I can't share because its a spoiler!
All thoughts being what they are, I still enjoyed the film. Surprisingly dark for a G film. But maybe that's because I go to the movies so infrequently and hardly watch TV anymore that I'm resensitized (instead of desensitized)?
Wonder what I'm going to think after seeing Transformers: Dark of the Moon tomorrow?
And I want to see Brave, the next Disney Pixar film and I've only seen the teaser trailer and read the brief entry on Wikipedia. >.>
Sadly, tomorrow is the last day I have before I have to go back to work. I'm so glad I took off a real chunk of time for my brother's wedding. I could use more but I'll take what I can.
