L O S T thoughts after last nights episode
here are some Lost thoughts... beneath the cut if anyone is interested!
1. i think FakeLocke was grooming Claire to be like his CrazyMom so that Aaron could grow up as MIB/Vengence Demon part 2. but Kate spoiled that shit by taking him away, and not bringing him back... getting her pulled from The List.
2. i think Walt was special the way BoyInBlack was special. and they both missed their opportunity for greatness with their desires to leave the island.
3. MIB= free will/except he is bound by rules
Jacob= fate/except it was never meant to be his...
MIB= cynical about the behavior of humans/having lived among them
Jacob= hopeful/having only ever observed them from afar
MIB= science...
Jacob= fuckin' miracles (like magnets)
4. "One day, when you invent your own game, you can make up your own rules." Brother says to Jacob when he catches him trying to cheat.
- so is that all we are going to get? Jacob is the rule master of the game, but only select few (and so far not the audience) gets to know what those rules are?
5. improbable scenario: so... has Jacob been hanging out with his Brothers Ghost all along? since his body has been decomposing in a cave with his mom. he once said "Jacob stole my body from me" and he went into the life/death/rebirth light and came out a vengeful cloud of smoke that apparently can inhabit dead people. Is he stuck on the Island the way Micheal is stuck on the Island. Is that the real reason he can't leave. Or is KidJacob stuck because his ghost is wandering around?
6. i think the point is that you can not have one exist without the other.
the light/the dark, etc
so, they need a replacement for Jacob, but they also need a replacement for MIB. But do they need a replacement for Jacob? his ghosts are still running around?
7. also, how poetic~ one of the first BIG smokey deaths was Mr. Eko... who had his own Brother issues.
8. where did that wheel thing come from? how did that make any sense? was he trying to say that magnets and light and a wheel would turn, opening a crack that would take him home? what? i'm so confused. why was that part put in? just so the writers said they could address something (even though they don't explain it?)
9. and how did ONE WOMAN slaughter all of the settlers, set fire to their camp, and fill the well in with dirt all while MIB was knocked out. Does being the Island protector ORIGINALLY come with Smoke Monster privileges?
Is drinking that magic wine only giving you half of the powers while the golden light gives you the other half (which she knew was horrible, which was why she did not want them going in there? maybe she intended not to die, but then the Smoke thing happened. Oh wait... i think i get it. because if Jacob drank that wine, giving him knowledge he knew that FakeMama being dead would mean he would have to go into the cave and earn that crazy Smoke power, and rather than deal with that himself he cursed his Brother, so he could never leave and he would never be completely alone on the Island.)

10. And I kind of like that MIB's name was never revealed. the producers said his name was important to the show... but maybe he was never given one and now we see he is part of the JacobMachine and that is the point that matters? i don't know. babbling i guess.

This ain't my theory, but I like it....
Richard is the new Jacob. He became such when he drank the wine and by passing the torch Jacob has been killable for a while now. Jacob just kept up a charade to fool MIB. MIB is confused as to why he can't leave. It's because the new Jacob's already taken over without his even knowing it.
OH WAIT I TOTALLY FIGURED IT OUT.

The Island... her Box.
the Light? the stuff that needs to be kept guarded from humans? that's the stuff of myth, the stuff inside the box that can taint the heart of every man.
that is why when men come, eventually lie, corrupt, kill, etc. they are become tainted by the Smoke.
if people leave the Island (as some have) they will bring that pox on the rest of the world.
that is why the Island tries to keep people there.
Like curing someones cancer, paralysis, keeping them from jail, giving them their peace... why would anyone want to escape a place like this?
having one tiny way on to the Island and one tiny window off of it.
and over time people have left/escaped, because, i mean the Island is littered with Smoke, so it is not always pleasant.
and now the world has it's elements of Bad.
people in this story long, long before we have come into it.
look at Widmore- he's left the Island and we know him as a scrupulous bad guy.
look at the Oceanic 6- they left the Island and their lives kind of turned to shit, by their own doing.
look at the pregnant woman dying on the Island...
if they get a safe passage off the Island, give birth, the babies will be born Un-Corrupt.
and in the myth the only thing that does not leave the box is Hope.
Jacob is very optimistic about the actions/hearts of man.
(Maybe that is why he was okay with the Dharma Initiative, coming along to do good works? helping him prove his Hope)
NewJacob has to be full of Hope.
and that is how the finale will play out.
