So, we lost the satellite box yesterday. Our neighbour, friend and slu-- landlord is selling the house and moving down to Florida, and since he happened to *cough* provide our hookup, said hookup is now gone. Hundreds of channels gone in the blink of an eye and we're left with the cable channels - which, here in the States, seems to be synonymous for "crap", or "soaps", which really comes down to the same thing.
I don't watch much telly anyway, to be honest, but oddly the knowledge that I can't watch what I wouldn't have watched anyway is somehow disquieting.
Besides, since hundreds of thousands of people are trying to survive a disaster and mourning loved ones, I thought I'd share my own tragedies. The irony appeals.
