Privilege

If you're a human being, you're privileged. Ask any rat, cockcroach, slug or snail.

If you're middle class (and, let's be honest, if you have time to waste prattling on about all this nonsense, you must be) you're privileged, ask anyone who ever went without food so their kids can eat.

If you live in Britain or America, you're privileged. Ask anyone who lives in Iraq, Rwanda or Tibet.

If you are a woman, your privilege is so vast it's impossible to measure. Ask any man.

If you have a computer and enough education to be able to string together intelligent, or, in the case of most of those in the current race arguments, semi-intelligent paragraphs, and your government does not prevent you from speaking your mind, you are so privileged you should be rejoicing in your privilege.

So, when next you want to say to someone that their skin colour makes them "privileged" remember that, if you were not also privileged, you wouldn't be in a position to comment on it.
