The Overview Effect
haikujaguar tipped me to the term "the overview effect" for describing the reaction of astronauts viewing the Earth from space. I think this is a very strong reason for space tourism: the more people who can have that experience, the better. It will improve our odds of NOT destroying the only planet we have to live on.
