This poem came out of the February 4, 2014 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from

The 'first and last task' concept really resonated with me. The work one does, if possible, by choice, without expecting pay, rounding out the day rather than making it hollow, using the skills and tools and space available...it might be a small task one undertakes, but it is an important one.
