Poem: "The Geometry of Language"

This poem came out of the May 7, 2013 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired and sponsored by janetmiles.  This is a fun use of extended metaphor.

The Geometry of Language

Everyone has a point to make,
moving from one segment of discussion to another,
plain speech sliding down the plane of the ecliptic,
swooping to take off on a curvilingual tangent
through volumetric space in which

the shortest distance between two puns is a straight line.
