This poem takes place in early winter, not long before the first snow. Not impossible, but still not a fun time to go barefoot.

xD This really pleased me to read. I swing between being really miserable and irritable when I get sick or refusing to acknowledge that I'm sick and trying to do all the things.

I'm glad you liked it. Different people have different tastes when they don't feel well, so it's useful to show that.
