Poem: "A Keen Eye for Alchemy"

Feb 09, 2012 14:35

This poem came from the February 7, 2012 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired by prompts from marina_bonomi, ellenmillion, janetmiles, and puffbird.  It belongs to the Steamsmith series, which you can explore further via the Serial Poetry page.  Special thanks to djinni for the new icon of Maryam!

He's about like this, all frizzy baby coat, long legs, and huge feet.

It suddenly occurs to me that London is a lot colder than Africa or Arabia, and I have this vision of Farasat wearing a knitted jumper and mincing through the snow with a stop after every step to shake off his paws.

This is not one of my favorite series, but I did really enjoy this poem. I think it was the cheetah that did it.
