This poem came out of the October 4, 2011 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired by prompts from laffingkat and rowyn dealing with phantom personality traits and ghosts of the living.  It was sponsored by laffingkat.

Heartshade

The man who died
gave away his heart
to a young woman.

Looks like I am going to have to lay in a new supply of kleenix...this poem and the one about the ghost pets really get to me.

I'm glad you found these so touching.

It's interesting that despite the theme, there were only a few creepy poems and nothing that was really horrifying. Most were just eerie, and some were sweet.
