Poem: "Home Is the Hunter"

Aug 17, 2011 12:44

This poem came out of the August 16, 2011 perk fishbowl.  It was inspired by a prompt from my_partner_doug following a discussion with janetmiles.  It was sponsored by laffingkat.  The form is a double-dactyl.  You can read the other Monster House poems online.

Given the series, I was almost expecting a story where a house was stalking people, perhaps to devour them, perhaps so it would have tenants to care for it.

There may indeed be carnivorous houses in this setting. *ponder* But the remark about catching more flies with honey can apply from the perspective of the house, as well as the tenants.
