Welcome to Winterfaire 2010

Nov 22, 2010 12:07

The Winterfaire spreads out as far as the eye can see. Some booths show streamers of red and green, while others sport blue and silver. All of them offer treasure after shining treasure. Music fills the air with lyrics of Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, and Yule. From the Wordsmith's Forge comes the bright chiming of words being hammered into ( Read more... )

Thank you, and welcome! My shopping post is here, and all sellers and shoppers are invited to check it out and post there as well. :)

I do readings using a bird oracle I created, as well as general divination; details are here. Prices start as low as a dollar! For no extra fee, I will design a pretty gift certificate that you can print and give. :)

I also do general spellcraft and other wise woman services; details are here. For example, I could design a spell for you to perform for someone else or to give to someone else that they can perform, say, for prosperity or joy or anything the person's heart might desire. I will, in cases of gifts, write the spell up all fancy on pretty paper that could be included in a basket that contains the spell's supplies. (I will even make this whole thing for you, for the usual rate, plus the cost of supplies and shipping...or you can do it and credit me for the idea. ;)) I can also find or make a magically imbued object, suitable for display or practical use or both. Contact me and we can discuss ( ... )

This is lovely! I make my primary living by sewing beautiful things, whether historical & fantasy costuming, close replicas of movie costumes, wedding dresses, cloaks, or laptop cases, book bags and purses. The web-site is still being put together so I don't have that to show, unfortunately.

Right now I'm also making and selling apple butter in three varieties; no sugar added, light (sweetened with agave nactar and honey), and original recipe (sweetened with brown sugar, molasses and maple syrup.) The apple butter is $5/pint plus shipping.

I'm also baking banana bread, zucchini bread and pumpkin bread with these options; with pecans and or chocolate chips and or agave/spenda sweetened. Those are $7/loaf plus shipping.

I'm available here on LJ by private message or via email at rowangolightly (at) gmail (dot) com.

That apple butter sounds nummy. I've been appalled by how many brands have high-fructose corn syrup in them. Even some of the Amish jars have it! Feh, I say, and besides which we have a friend who's allergic to HFCS. Agave nectar and honey sound much more appetizing. (You might consider a "no high-fructose corn syrup" sticker.) One of these times I should write up my apple-barbecue pork ribs recipe; it uses apple butter and/or apple-flavored barbecue sauce.

I have a label on each jar and loaf of "RowanTreats" that in addition to saying, "all natural, no preservatives, made with love" also lists all ingredients.

And I also often replace half the butter or oil with apple sauce in my baked goods, making them low fat as well. I have tasted each of my products and (as picky as I am) can honestly say that the sugar-alternative products are every bit as tasty and the ones made with sugar. *grin* And I never, ever use margarine for anything.

Your ribs recipe sounds lovely!

>>And I also often replace half the butter or oil with apple sauce in my baked goods, making them low fat as well.<<

Yeah, that's a good trick. I'm also fond of using zucchini milk to replace some or all of the dairy.

>>And I never, ever use margarine for anything.<<

I only use it for certain recipes that take advantage of its chemical structure. It's not interchangeable as a fat. Some cookie recipes are worth buying a carton of margarine to make, once in a while. But usually I prefer to cook with butter, shortening, vegetable oil, etc.
