*hugs* Hi Ysa!

I was at home, awakened quite early in the morning by my mother. Both Towers were still upright and burning; she'd caught the second impact and realized it wasn't an accident. Spent the first little while thinking I was still dreaming, and that it was about Godzilla in New York. Got coffee and some intelligence, realized what was going on, watched in disbelief at what couldn't have been an accident, and grew into a sort of quiet, rational, fangy rage. We watched news updates on our very blurry, static-filled television, and heard radio announcements.

I watched both Towers fall, on that staticky old television. So glad they didn't twist or crumple sideways, taking out whole stretches of city blocks. Grateful for how long the old Towers were able to stand under such a fire, so that many people could make it out in time. The courage of the firefighters and policemen still running into the deathtrap to the very end to save others will inspire me forever. Prayers always for the friends and families of all who were lost that day.
