Ten-Day Meme, Day Three

Dec 25, 2010 00:04

I am determined to keep this thing going, dammit, and here I sit at ten minutes to midnight on Christmas Eve typing today's list.  Bah humbug!

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two images that describe your life right now, and why.
Day Ten: One confession.

Right; here we go.

1.  Feed me shrimp.  Yes, shrimp.  Fried, boiled, sauteed, grilled... shrimp.  One at a time, big tasty Gulf-Of-Mexico shrimp.  Mmmmmm, shrimp. I am a woman of simple tastes.

2.  Do something kind for an animal or a bunch of animals; that'll get to me Big Time, yes.

3.  Spontaneous gestures are good-- somebody once bought me a bunch of flowers wrapped in newspaper; they'd clearly nabbed them from somebody's garden, and I'm sorry about the garden owner's denuded bushes but this just charmed me.

4.  Volunteer.  Help out in something where the only result is a job done and good karma.  Get somebody's truck out of the mud, pick up litter, do crowd-control at a public event, paint children's faces at a carnival.

5.  Scritch my head.  I respond well to head-scritches and hair petting, i.e., I melt into a goofy pile of brainless happy.

6.  Come up with something strange to do, out of the ordinary, an odd place to go or an interesting idea to try-- going out into the desert to shoot an AK-47, having a paper-airplane war in your living room, taste-testing five ice cream joints in an afternoon... like that.

7.  Tell me about yourself like my opinion means something to you; I don't mean like you have to win me over or gain my approval, but like what I think of you, good or bad, matters to you.

8.  Be kind to my friends and loved ones; they're important parts of my life.  You don't have to love them, but you do have to respect them and treat them well.

It strikes me that the majority of these boil down to kindness and empathy.  Makes sense, really.  ^__^

...and to all a good night.
