Just a quick blog entry to catch myself up to date... I spent yesterday home sick with what probably was the beginnings of a cold-- frequent trips to the bathroom, sore throat, sinus crap, general all-over aches... Am feeling much better today, though. I slept through most of Thursday while under the influence of Theraflu, which is rather like being hit repeatedly with a heavily-padded hammer. But during my infrequent moments of consciousness, I knitted; I also discovered that knitting while Theraflu'd means that you have to frog some stuff out now and then and reknit this. Oh well...
So: here's the state of The Hat Of Doom right now:
It's coming along pretty well, actually; the colors don't show their shading as well in the pic as in real life, but the purple's starting to go lavender and will eventually shade to turquoise, while the green is darkening and will go olive after a little while longer. I figure about 2 1/2" more inches of pattern before I start my decreases-- I've never done decreases during a pattern, it'll be interesting... in a kind of OMG!TRAUMA!TRAUMA way...
But my hat, she is beautiful. I think I shall call her Jewel. ^__^
Okay, back to work; today we have our Annual!Holiday!Celebration! Which means I get out at noon, spend the next four or five hours sitting at a table with my coworkers while we make small talk and eat the food our Gracious Overlords have provided us... and hope for a holiday bonus. Not that I'm ungrateful, really I'm not; it'll be nice, though also pretty damn boring and I'll have to clap a lot. Still, I'll get free lunch and a dessert, so yay! I shouldn't whine; I should be thankful. Right? Right.
...I wonder if I could sneak my knitting under the table?
Have a good weekend, y'all.
