Getting ready for Estrella War...

Feb 09, 2009 06:24

**YAAAAAAAAAAAWN** Right, right, I'm UP okay?  Man, it's just too damn early for it to be this time in the morning... Need caffeine.  Badly.

Almost ready to head out to Estrella, but I won't actually be leaving 'til Thursday morning.  Got today and tomorrow still at work (OMG SO MUCH TO DO @_@  AAAAAAGH), got some cleaning to get done, got more sewing waiting for me.  But!  I've sewn the following:

Finished repairing cream-colored linen dress
Made one new veil
Made one new 'embroidered' underdress
Made one new shift
Made one new ahem, 'woolen' (polar-fleece) underdress
Made one new *actual* gorgeous tan wolen underdress
Made one almost-completed amber-colored sideless surcoat

To-be-done is this:

Complete the surcoat (all I have to do is the hem)
Make chocolate-brown overdress with bloody pain-in-the-ass tippets
Make dark green tunic (partially cut out already)
Make white underdress

Not so bad.  Should get the surcoat finished tonight, along with the tunic.  Tomorrow night'll get the brown dress done and hopefully most of the white underdress.  And then I'll be ready, short of packing (which won't take long; I've got all my SCA garb laid out on the couch, it's just a matter of picking through for what I want and packing it up.)  My tent's already with Johannes, who's taking it up ahead of me; I worked up arrangements to keep myself warmer this year, and Johannes, bless him, has lent me an air-mattress.

So:  Now all I've got to do is survive the stress of work and co-workers going EEEYAAAAHGH YOU'RE NOT GONNA BE HERE?? FOR THREE DAYS???? WE NEED YOU DO THIS AND THIS AND THIS AND THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!! which is what will happen today and tomorrow.  Holy shit, but I need help at work.  I got in fourteen autopsy reports last week-- fourteen.  And medical records up the wazoo, as my dad'd say (which sounds painful).

But oh well; they'll just have to manage.  That's what I'm doing, managing.  It's not all that difficult.

sca, stress
