Hey-- y'all know those little UFO-shaped bowls of noodles with the lids on that you can buy at oriental grocery stores? The ones that look like just maybe they might be better than cup-o-soups, because proper ramen and udon from Japan, China or wherever is always superior to the cheap American stuff? Weeeeel, I've tried them before and they were awful. But I was at 17th Street Market (my local favorite Asian grocery) today during lunch and there they sat temptingly on the shelves and I was hungry, so...
Eeeew. Don't do it. Stick to the nice Japanese/Chinese/Vietnamese/Thai/Wherever ramen/pad thai/udon/whatever packets, take 'em home and fix them there; don't buy the pour-hot-water-and-sit-for-3-minutes-inna-plastic-bowl-with-a-lid ones, they're horrible. So lunch consists of some grapes from home, a few choked-down mouthfuls of awful noodles, a red-bean daifuku and a chocolate bar. Meh.
Just thought I'd say that. Stay away from the UFO noodles! -__-
