Back in the U.S.S.R.....

Just got home from a beach vacation. It was pretty nice, except when the ocean tried to swallow me. It didn't succeed. But that experience, plus the fact that there were "No Swimming" signs up most of the week, meant I spent almost no time in the ocean. I did sit in a chair with the waves crashing on my feet a lot. I'm such an old lady. But I read a lot and had some fun family times. Plus the pool was delightful.

Now I'm back to the real world, and tomorrow is a full 13 hour day of school and work to get me back into the swing of things. School doesn't officially start till Wednesday, but I have to go to Art Ed orientation tomorrow...and then I have to close my store...and open the next day. I believe this week is the final straw. I'm ready to be out of that store. I just got my financial aid for the quarter, and paid all my bills ahead for the next three months. I bought my text books and handed over rent money for the next three months to my mother, so I won't be tempted to spend it. And I still have enough to live on...I just can't think of any reason to stay in a job that makes me unhappy any longer.

Anyway, I want to focus all my energy on school. This year all of my classes will interrelate and be with the same 25 classmates. My teachers are all professors in the department. I want to do well. And my class schedule is actually quite pleasant, as far as how early I'd have to get up and how late I'd be there. If I didn't have to try to squeeze work around it, I could easily have all the time I need to do well in school AND get some sleep, and not succumb to the stress of last year.

On an unrelated, but super awesome note, I got Beatles Rock Band. It makes me happy.
