I had a pretty good birthday weekend. Didn't see everyone I would have liked, but did spend some fun time with some awesome people, so I can't complain. Thursday I went to 80's night at Skully's with Julie. I ran into a kid I haven't seen in ages, but who used to come over to my house a lot because he was friends with several different groups of my friends. He just moved back to Columbus after several years living in Chicago(?). That was nice. He's always been a pretty fun guy. Todd was going to come meet up with us, but we had already been hanging out there for an hour and a half when he was leaving his house. We were feeling a little old and tired (I had only gotten 4 hours of sleep the night before), so we told Todd not to worry about coming, and I went home and curled up on the couch to watch a little DVRed Pushing Daisies and go to bed.
Friday I had my game night. Megan and John came into town for it. Also in attendance were Julie, Billiee & AJ, Jared, Bob & Melanie, Blanche, Cora & Gabe, Alyssa, Robert, Carlos, and Carl. I think that's it. It was a really enjoyable night. Played several games, ranging from nerdy (Betrayal at House on the Hill) to not-so-nerdy (Apples to Apples).
I spent Saturday with Megan and John lazing about the house and watching Harry Potter. I painted some, though not nearly as much as I should have. And Saturday night was Rocky. I guest performed. My first time there in the 6 months since I quit. I had a good time. Julie, Megan, John, Ryan, and Thomas came out to see me. That ended up being the fourth night in a row of going to bed insanely late. Tonight will be the fifth, because I have to finish 2 paintings tonight. My painting final critique is tomorrow at noon. So, I now I have to keep painting till both paintings are done. Either that or go to bed early and get up early to paint. I think going to bed late and sleeping till 11am will be more likely.
I feel bad, because Megan lost her wallet while she was here. I'm going to keep looking for it. My fear is that it fell out of the car when she got out and someone walking down the street saw it and picked it up. But I'm going to watch as the snow melts and see if it's just hidden somewhere.
Oh, and today was my family birthday stuff. My parents, my brother and his wife, and my nephew all came over for an early dinner of City Barbecue. I got an external hard drive. I needed it desperately, because my computer is completely full with pictures and music right now. My brother put it all together and formatted it for me while he was here. Nice. Then my family left and Jared came and picked me up to go to Village Lights. We stopped into the Book Loft to see Julie and wandered the 32 rooms for a while. Then we started to walk through insanely adorable German Village streets dripping with Christmas charm, but decided quickly that it was too cold to actually spend much time at Village Lights, and came back here to watch Empire Records instead. Jared left 2 hours ago, and I still can't make myself start painting. Guess it's time I should. The sooner I start, the sooner I can sleep.
