You're sweet, but you're just 4 feet, and you still got your baby teeth...

Didn't end up going to Rocky last saturday, though I would have liked to. I was just too tired, and had to wake up early the next morning to go to the zoo with my family. I hadn't been to the zoo in a few years, so that was a lot of fun. I went with my parents, my brother, and my nephew. Finally got to see Asia Quest. Took a lot of pictures (including a picture of myself with the lorikeets, finally). Enjoyed the zoo for myself, and for the joy of the toddler with me. Things like that are always more fun with little kids you're related to. Didn't get to stay as long as I would have liked, because I had to run out to auditions for Fifth Elephant at the park. At this point I feel a little better about it than last year, but I still think we cast the play way too early, and should have spent more time trying to get people interested before our cast list was set in stone. Came home from auditions and acquired a dryer from Billiee. A washer to follow shortly. I have awesome friends.

The rest of my week has been spent working and spending time with friends. Between Julie, Ryan, Jared, Isaac, Billiee, and AJ (and a cat who wants to be beside me at all times) I haven't had time to be lonely. I've only spent one evening alone since I moved...And that was the first night I had the cable, so I kept myself pretty entertained. That being said, this week I got my cable, internet, and phone hooked up. And I got my carpets cleaned and patched. The only thing left to get right is my furniture. So far I've painted one set of shelves...That's about it. I have a lot more painting to do. My mom is half finished with re-covering my chair, and hasn't even started my couch. Not too surprised there. Still, this is only like my second or third day off since I moved in, and some progress is being made, after all. Today my cat seems to be in heaven, as this is the first day in a very long time that I've had a chance to sleep in past 9am. And there's nothing she loves more than sleeping next to me on my bed. I'll hate to disappoint her and get up and start doing shit here in a minute, but I'm having the whole cast of the play over tomorrow for our first read-through of the first act, and I have a lot to do before I feel ok with strangers seeing my house. Actually, it's not that bad downstairs right now, and I'm looking forward to seeing what an actual weekend's worth of working on it will bring. Of course, I have to factor in a lot of cooking time tomorrow. Last night I started my thank you dinners for people who helped me move. I made Jared my meatloaf, before we went to see Spinal Tap at the Studio. It was pretty good, I must say. And now I have enough leftovers for sandwiches all week. Tomorrow I'm making lasagna for Bob and the entire cast, while I'm at it. Cuz, really, making lasagna for one person or for 15 people is not much different.

Last night I destroyed my cell phone at long last. It's been on it's last legs for a while, and knocking it off the bathroom sink onto the floor was the straw that broke the camel's back...or the cell phone, I suppose. But my brother is amazing and awesome, and before I even had time to mourn, he gave me one of his cast-off phones, already set up with my number. It'll take a little bit of getting used to, as texting buttons are slightly different and stuff, but it's a free phone, when I thought I'd have to spend all weekend without a cell phone. There was a time when that wouldn't have bothered me, but now I feel disconnected without it. Oh, the technology is killing me.

Julie's coming over after she gets off work to watch some DVRed Project Runway (I'm glad they re-run it so often, because we missed the last two episodes, while neither of us had the cable), so I should get off my lazy ass and start getting shit done. But first, a little meatloaf for lunch. Yum. And my poor cat will just have to content herself with sleeping on the couch while I clean. I think she'll manage. She's happy as long as she's in the same room as me. She seems to be adjusting pretty well to being in a one cat household. She's getting a bit of a belly, though, without her sister here to eat all her food. Still, if there's a cat who could stand to put on a bit of weight, it's Zhenya.
